For Evo performance doubters...

Hi guys. This is just for an FYI. I usually tell people that Evo's are capable of a 13 flat 1/4. But they doubt me, many are Evo owners themselves. Well I was looking through the registry of member's ride's pictures. I came to a yellow Evo owned by housedj. Bone stock, ran a 13.09 at 107mph. True he was using 100 octane fuel, but he is still stock. I doubt the octane added anything being at stock boost. Not to mention his 60 ft time was 1.9, he was at well over 1000ft elevation and in a warm environment(Firebird Raceway). So even if the fuel did anything he had those factors working against him.
Still makes me happy as I own the same car. Awesome run housedj. You're going to be a monster once you start upgrading.

Housedj is nowhere close to stock. He has two Evos, and the one with mods ran a weak 13.0@107, because he thinks running 25psi is ok. If you want actual proof of Evos running 13-flat, look at my sig for a 13.1@104 on a 1.92 60', then go check out HiBoost who did hit 13.0@105, but this something you only see with 05s on a regular basis. The 03/04s weren't really capable of it, but a few expert drivers claimed to have done it (e.g. MalibuJack). I also think whiteevoviii got a 13.0@105, and now he's doing 12.2s with TBE/SAFC/K&N on race gas.

It's possible. I ran two 13.0's back to back on stock boost.

Very impressive. Standard 03/04s only hit 101-102mph in the 1/4, regardless of driver. Something had to be different to hit over 104 with ~20 less whp. Maybe yours was a bit stronger than the average evo, plus you knew how to drive it...

Thumbs up

thx alot man. i only spent about $1500 MAX on power mods. & yes Warrtalon 25 PSI is ok since i have no detonation & run the heater full blast at that level. now that i'm looking into a liquid to air i/c & 109 VP unleaded, i will spike the stock turbo to 32PSI & let it taper to around 23PSI. do not overlook the stock turbo. it can max at 500 crank hp!

Yeah, you go right ahead. 25 psi for you = 107mph. 22 psi for me = 111 mph. I did 106.3 when stock + S-AFC on stock boost. Not sure why you think the turbo is efficient at or beyond 25 psi...

great times in your sig, but i assure you it will be alot slower here in az with the different elevation, no humidity, & oh yeah, it's gonna be 112 outside today...
