Damn, Car theft is something that bothers me ALOT. I would definitely turn someone in if I knew they were stealing cars. They deserve it...

No, you're not the only one who has a problem with this.

And can someone explain the "I don't want to be a rat" garbage? Are we in kindergarten folks? If you know someone is doing something concrete, then you have an obligation to say something. First to them, then to someone who can do something about it.

I find it hard to believe that someone would actually say "I don't have a problem with it as long as they don't mess with my stuff." With that kind of logic, hell, as long as someone doesn't hit you in a drive-by it's peachy keen.

Moral relativism gone bad, I think. But consdrin' mos peeple can't spell on dis board, I ain't surprisd they cann't git there brain around da concept of ethics 'n stuff, cuz readin is stuupid...yo.

Don't you feel a responsibility as a concerned citizen to turn these people in?

Also - take care in parking, use a security system, and don't hesitate to beat the **** out of somone trying to steal your things... Guns sometimes work, but that does get a little messy.

There's too many *******s out there... Of course people will try to steal it... Get the club and a good alarm... I caught some kids trying to get into my Eclipse one night.. The beatdown then ensued....

Theives dont care that you dont "rat them out". I wouldn't be suprised if they steal your stuff the next day.

i agree wit cnile. there are many things this car has that theives want, let me list them:

HID
Enkei Rims
FMIC
4G63 @19psi stock
Recaros
Brembos
MOMO
4G63 @19psi stock??????? I would think it's a little hard to steal that without stealing the whole car. Unless you're referring to their reason for stealing the whole car.

Doesn't this 4g63 spin in the opposite direction as the engines that normally go in the lancer? That was my understanding.....and if it's true, the engine won't be very easily used in a normal Lancer....so people won't steal em for that use.

The Enkei rims won't be too sought after either, IMO. The fact that they are five lug designs instead of the 4 lug design of all other Lancers, means that unless Lancer owners do a whole suspension upgrade, they won't easily be able to use the wheels. (and besides, you are silly if you don't at least have a pair or 2 of wheel locks on your car)

The things I see thieves wanting from Evos are the FMIC, the HID's, the Recaros, and the Momo steering wheel.

Shortly after taking ownership of my car, I'll be tack welding metal onto the mounting screws (to fill the phillips head "X") for each of these parts. It'll make the thieves job of removing my stuff much harder. Lots of people use this strategy with great success...

I agree. The more I read on this site the more ignorant I think these people are. I have only seen a select few with intelligent comments.

Right...but, if you aren't part of the solution...

Imagine if you said "I hate it when people hit me," but you didn't do anything to stop it (or someone hitting someone else, for that matter). Do you see the problem now?

yes i clearly see the problem that you see. to me that is not an issue. if you say "im gonna do something to stop these people from hitting me" there's still hundreds of ppl out there trying to hit you. stopping one does nothing. i do see where ur coming from tho but in all honesty.....i'd NEVER turn in my boys for ANYTHING. it's like ratting out ur brother for cheating on his girl. u'd have to be an idiot to do something like that.

true its not about ratting people out or anything...everyone knows its wrong and damn some1 taking my hard earneds stuff cause there too lazy to work for it but think of it this way....why would you go out be nosy start turning people in and one day end up causing bigger problems for yourself??? thats kinda like going out to look for trouble, why bother unless its your stuff being stolen?

yes it is wrong and those people should be turned in.
but i would not put myself in a position where i jepordize myself and my things...and besides you turning people in the courts have to prove they are thieves...once they get out and people find out your the rat....that nice shiny blue 350z sitting in the lot that noone has bothered with because your cool with them becomes a target doesnt it???
