failed to install apexi tt.

i just got my ebc & tt this afternoon.
so i started to install the tt first.
i got everything wired and hooked up.
and ready to turn the ignition.
but no power through ignition.
hm.. my ground is bad?? so i rechecked the ground and decided to use ecu ground. and start the ignition.
no power!!!
i looked at tt harness.
the one pin is mis located. i called apexi usa, but they said the layout of pins are normal.
hm.... so the harness connection is bad???
they told me to return the harness kit, but that will take another 2weeks to receive new one.
i guess i have to hard-wire the ignition part.
because of that, i couln't install the ebc!!!
it's already dark, i'll do it tommorrow.
man this sucks!!!

As far the hose through the fire wall is concerned, I put mine through on the drivers side. There is next to were the steering linkage goes through. If you are under the hood it would be to the left of where it comes through the firewall. You can go higher too, to the left of the brake master cylinder. Again on the left looking from under the hood. Removing the strut tower brace and intake piping will give you some more room. Just check twice on both sides to make sure you are not going to hit anything. I drilled to holes, one high and one lower for the vacum hose and for my mbc adjustment cable, respectivly. The top hole I drilled from the engine bay in, but the bottom hole I drilled from the cabin out. Get yourself some nice rubber grommets too, to fit the hole you drilled, that way you hose and what not will not rub agianst bare metal. Hope this helps you a little, sorry I don't have any pics at moment.

just use the grommet on the passenger side behind the wheel well. You are going to have to put it through from the engine bay

Unless you go through the passenger side like he says, you might have to drill. If you take your time check things over well, drilling isnt a big deal and it will look good.

you don't get power through ignition.

you get power through other source, like light dimmer switch. it's the green wire.

That and don't forget the e-brake blue wire that you have to wire up.

are you sure???
i get 12v power through different source?
the red wire is hooked up to the harness.
if i hook the harness which only goes one way, i get everything set up.
except O2, ground, and handbrake.

yeh, dont do the 02.

are there 2 wires that's sticking out from the tt or 3?

post some pix, i'm sure we could figure this out.

I'm actually going by hks tt, but I don't see how it could be that different from hks unit.

3 wires are sticking out.
1. O2 voltage wire, 2. handbrake wire, 3. ground (ecu)
i don't have digicam..

hmmm maybe it is powered through the ignition.

wait, are you using hks harness to install your apexi?

edit: ok, just looked at the documentation.

http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_ele...=198&pageNum=1

yes, it's powered through ignition.

white wire is the o2 sensor tap, which you shouldn't do.

black ground usually is the problem for lack of power, but it might be a faulty unit.

You should check your wires to make sure they're getting power.

Why do you say this??? I have an Apexi tt and I connected the O2 wire...you have to connect that wire in order for the automatic mode to work right? Why is it bad to connect it in your opinion?

Just curious if I have to remove it or what... thanks. Sorry for the thread jack

yes, don't do the 02.

you could usually do the auto mode with the voltage.

Any particular reason??? I still don't understand why to not do it. It says in the instructions to hook it up there...
