I think it all comes down to two things. The owner and the dealersip you buy from.

If you take care of the car, you shouldn' t have any odd problems like the clutch going up or your paint peeling off. Now if your drop the clutch too many times, you should expect something to go wrong.

I've had my 03 GSR for a 1.5 years and have had no problems. I have a few dings on the front hood where paint is gone, but that was from normal wear and tear. Going down the highway doing 90+ mph and having a small rock or something hit you, your going to get dings. The paint isn't as good of a quality as it should be though, if I had it all to do again, I'd get a new clear coat put on the day i got it.

The only problem I have with the 03 GSR is the drive train decel noise. But then again, all the cars have it.

I take my car in for service every 5k miles and everything is running like a champ. The dealer doesn't give me any problems.

I think alot of people are scared of taking on the EVO because of the few *** hats (kids who were drivign Hondas), that boght one and don't understand that they just bought a performance car and that it requires money to maintain. Then they get on the message boards and ***** how the EVO sucks this and the EVO sucks that, and the dealership wont honor their warenty.

Buy the car, keep in maintained, put on a clear coat, and if you plan on pushing serious HP numbers, get the drive tran rebuilt. Other then that the car fricken rocks!

Expect to spend up to $500 a year on normal maintaince. Tires are going to run you about $800 to $1000. Other then that your golden.

On a brand new car? You seriously think it's worth it to do that? How much would that run? I'd think it'd be kinda pricey. Just curious.

To be completely honest, I have no idea. A cheaper alternative would be to get the 3M Clear Coat Bra atleast put on the front and the side mirrors.

That way the front part of the car that would take the most abuse would be protected.

If you're worried about stone chips it's far cheaper to install a clear bra......or suck it up, and have the front-end repainted after a few years (not as expensive as people think).

I have a Stonegard ClearBra on my Z06, and I've loved it. Not *ONE* rock chip on the front. Not one.
