Where do I go from here?

I've been beating myself up over what to do next on my car. July 28th I'm getting headstuds and 272 hks cams put in, along with another tune. I've only had this car since jan 31st of this year, I think I have some sort of addiction or something.

I know that I must be getting close to pushing my injectors too much, I figure with the next power upgrade I do, I'm going to have to put new injectors in, which sucks because it's like 400 bucks for no horsepower. I also know that I'm probably reaching my limit on what the stocker clutch is going to hold, although it has held like a champ through all the drag racing, autoX, and other not so legal activiities.

I want to be in the neighborhood of 400awhp on pump, but I don't know how keen I am to the whole engine management thing, I mean, If I were doing a big turbo like a GT35 or something of that sort, I know that I'd need it, the part that stresses me though, is....the white rabbit. On paper is looks awsome, but all of the testing I have seen done has been with engine management. It's a $1500 Turbo, but if you have to spend 2k on engine management and tuning, then it's a 3500 turbo =p

If you're going to spend all of that money, touch a little over 400, you might as well just bite the bullet, buy the GT35 (omg you road race and autoX guys are going to flame the hell out of me). I can't help it, I love the feel of straight line speed, the greatest part of the Evo is that it can satisfy people from both sides of those tracks.

Here are some of the parts I think I'm going to need, but you all can please feel free to throw some ideas at me. I've thought about methanol, but I'd rather rely just on my fuel pump, and not on 2 pumps I think. I wouldnt mind running methanol with a VERY conservative tune.

ACT clutch and some form of flywheel
AEM UEGO Wideband
Palm pilot-esque data logging

At this point I get stumped on my list. I should be putting down 330ish on pump with the cams in, and hopefully a little higher on race gas (does 350 sound impossible?)

I've thought about the TME turbo, the WR turbo, getting just a 10.5 hotside....I've thought about getting a bigger intercooler, new intercooler pipes, methanol injection, 3071 atp turbo kit. I'm really stumped as to what I should be saving my pennies for.

I figure the stuff from the list I NEED to do is going to cost me in the neighborhood of 2 grand, so I'm hoping to have that stuff done in about 2 months. I'm thinking spring time for the new power upgrade.

Sorry for the length of the post, but feel absolutely free to post your opinions and ideas.

I am in the same boat as you man. I can't figure out what to get next for more power. I have thought about the 10.5 cm hotside, but I don't know if it is worth it, or rather if it will suffice for my wanting more power.

And I am also wondering where people begin to max out our injectors. And like you, I hate to spend $$$ on something that gives no power and requires more tuning. If I do get injectors, they would stay out of the car until I added more power to it and needed to get a reflash anyway.

I am looking at an i/c, tubular or ported exhaust manifold, or brake upgrade (good price at www.thespeedfactor.com) as my next mods. FYI, i/c pipes are a good thing to do. I have had my Helix pipes for about a month and love them.

I would highly recommend the white rabbit setup. I was just over at Switzer Performance Innovation the other day and went for a ride in Tym's car which has the white rabbit setup. Holy White Rabbit Batman! That thing started breaking the tires loose from a roll in first gear! It was a very impressive 450awhp car to say the least. Just talk to Tym, he will tell you exactly where you need to spend the money so you don't waste it on things you don't need. He is a straight shooter and will not lead you down the wrong path.
