Difference in Oil Catch Cans?

I was checking out some different oil catch cans that are available.

I noticed the GREDDY oil catch can came in 9mm and 15mm options.

Is one better than the other? Which is the better one to go with and why?

thanks in advance!

I'm not sure which is better to go with, as the 9 mm is likely large enough. The main concern would be putting in a catch can with too small of an inlet and outlet. That could result in a pressure buildup under the valve cover. I don't believe the breather hose on our valve cover is any larger than 9 mm, so it should be fine.

Get a grip. We are not talking about a Turbo charger here. I have heard many people bash this catch can because it is made by Weapon R. Think about it. It has no moving parts, handles no boost pressure and is has nothing to do with how your car runs. I used an old beer can as a catch can for an old race car and it did the job fine. There is no rocket science involved in a catch can. I do not own one. I made my own (not a beer can ) but the weapon R is the only can that I can see that actually looks at home in our engine bay.

A multi national champion auto-xer has the weapon R on his car. So if it is good for him it is got to be good enough for all

Are you guys talking about the one that mounts on the strut bar or the universal?

I just returned the universal weapon-R. The workmanship was crap! Welds were bad and there was a dent in the can. Plus the fit was not good for the area near the master cylinder.

Is there a reason to run a catch can rather than just venting to atmosphere? I find it hard to believe that everyone with a catch can is just trying to be environmentally conscious given all the test pipes on here.

Catch-cans have nothing to do with venting into the atmosphere. Catch-cans are used to collect the Oil from the engine before it gets to the turbo.

I had a breather filter on my crank case vent. A the track I got very high crank case pressure that blew oil all over my firewall.

I had 2 choices:
1, get a catch tank
2, run a hose from CC vent down to the ground.

I got the catch tank. I am not about to vent oil beneath the car.

Get over yourself, a catchcan is just an aluminum can. as long as the welds are ok, then it doesnt matter who makes it. I'll bet you a burrito that most of the catch cans are produced by the same shop anyway. I'll be using catch cans that I sourced from a shifterkart catalog. They're manufactured by Edmonds Tool and Die in Ohio...who cares?
