That's funny, Limey, since it's common knowledge that the regular JDM Evo VII has quite a bit more than the claimed 276. Probably around the neighborhood of 295-300, actually. So, while it's not "verified", I'm just repeating what I have learned from a very reliable source.

Also, I want to repeat why this is probable. This has essentially the same engine as the E7, which, as previously stated, has somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 hp, despite the claimed 276. Now, the E8 has a supposedly revamped turbo, an exhaust system (which if you don't know about, look into, it's simply amazing), a hollow cam, not to mention probably remapped ECU. To have these improvements and NOT have a significant increase in horsepower and performance is illogical.

Respond with more than three words and a "smiley" and maybe we can have an intelligent conversation, Limey. If you have read my posts, you'd know that I'm a pretty skeptical person, and don't believe everything I hear. However, I have good reason to believe this due to the points I have already brought up, and again due to the source that shall remained unnamed. I already have a good reputation on here, so, I don't need to improve it by making things up. If you choose not to believe me, fine, that's your choice. However, unless you can come up with some cognascent points, I'd like it if you kept your thoughts to yourself.

Hey sup streetlancer? I haven't heard just like the turbo cedia thinging Do you have anything to verify this statement with.

The closes thing i can think about is the Lotus Esprit S4S. 2.2L with 300hp.

Apart from the fact they have to run it on california emmission laws with thier weak fuel.....it stands to reason with the US smog laws being so strict they would de- tune the evo over japan and europe..The seven also had hollow cams, so actually no improvement there over seven....to really gauge the power of an engine ...look at the torque figure...then you know if manufacturers are lying.....evo VII had 292 hp stock...I have no idea where you are getting 300 from

That's better. If the cam is the same, my apologies. I was told that there was some new development with the cam. However, there is new technology in the engine and a remapped ECU, which could explain the difference in HP.

Also, you're ignoring the performance aspect. There are reports of a 4.8 0-60, where as most Evos have low 5s normally. How do you explain that, if the weight on the E8 is up, and the horsepower is "down"? Especially if Mitsu is saying that it's "271 no more no less"?

Not "threatened", but I get tired of people who pick and pick at other people's statements, but without any good reasons. You choose to put me on ignore, fine. It really doesn't hurt my feelings by any means. My point is that whenever you don't ask decent questions, or even try to discuss things in a somewhat civilized manner, you don't learn anything. Just going "so what" kind shows a "unwillingness" to discuss, and a closed mindedness without any given reason. Plus, i was a bit put off by the whole "What're you smoking" stuff, which, is just plain rude. I'm trying to be informative here, and if you have a problem with it, I'm fine with a point by point discussion, but three words and a smiley... what point was I supposed to take from that?

Longfury, I had read that the "estimated" 0-60 times were slated to be 5.3 due to the performance of the Evo VII.

There was a thread about the reported 4.8 time, but, the 5.1 was confirmed, and that is what Subaru is claiming with their STi which has an extra half liter and 29 claimed hp. And the 5.1 on the STi has been called "optimistic."

Limey, normally I'd agree with you, and I'm usually HIGHLY doubtful of just about anything car related, but, like I said, I have heard/read information that, for once, has swayed me to believe this. No enemies here, and believe me, disagreeing with me doesn't nearly make me angry, as long as it's presented in the right way.
