you know, I honestly told people that Forge is a great product and their service is great as well.

Just with that saying, Forge lost just about all my respect for their company.

i'm sure Mike's going to try to make some vague remark about that and I really do hope that's not what he MEANT, but it just came out wrong...

Wouldn't happen. I think Forge should buy back this guys BOV since they destroyed any hope of him selling it to another member.
That would be a very respectable action to take in my opinion.

I don't expect Forge to buy back the valve, but I can't understand why they would sabotage my sale thread when so many other people have had success with the older valve.

The reason I bought the thing in the first place was because of Forge's reputation. Funny how things can change so quickly............

the reason they sabotaged your thread is so they can try to make more money...i have had nothing but problems with that unit and the forge company...way to stand behind your products, guys...how about a refund for the unit? oh and from what i've heard the new forge unit is just as bad as the old one, my friend has already taken it off his car...forge must have bought their reputation, because they sure don't deserve it...

I hope for Forge that they have better business sense than to bash their own product in light of newer inovations. It is like Mitsubishi saying that they only recomend Evo 9 models now. If that were the case it is called a recall, and the company should credit loyal customers with older versions credit towards the functioning one. Ball is in Foge's court. You are only as good as your reputation!

It's not a bad product(older Forge reicr bov) but it's not...great. If you don't mind the half throttle surging/stuttering during high boost, then you'll be fine. Evos are VERY particular with bov aside from stock. I've heard it from everyone I've asked, tuners and other very experienced drivers. I would hope they do some kind of credit/return thing for the old version towards their newer ones, BUT if most people find it's not even as good as their older ones... then.. oh well... I'll stick to stock.

Is there an aftermarket recirculating valve out there that’s problem free? I have the same fluttering problem with the Forge valve and know I come to find out from the manufacturer that their valve is no good.

Firstly, I am very sorry if I gave the wrong impression about this valve or the intent of my statement.

Secondly, I think my choice of words/verbage was not appropriate for the message I was trying to convey. For that I think I need to try to better explain what I meant.

I never said the valve doesn't work, or can't be tuned to be effective at holding boost.

My statement solely implied that we have created a new product that happens to perform better. Would you expect anything less from the development arm of a manufacturing firm?

This valve, while not perfect, can be and has been used very effectively on Evo's, 2G Eclipses, and GTO's (3000GT's), as well as non-Mitsu applications. The valve is perfectly capable of holding high levels of boost, but just happens to have some part throttle fluttering issues that we have been unable to correct despite our best efforts.

As a matter of course, Al from Dynoflash used this exact same valve on his car for quite a long period of time with no issues at all making over 30 PSI. He has since switched to the EVO14 atmospheric valve, and again, is having no issues.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am terribly sorry if I have "ruined" tcarretti's chances of selling this valve, and as what little consolation I can provide at this point, I would gladly accept this valve back from him in exchange for the New RS valve.

If I have offended him in such a way that he is not happy with that offer, then I can only offer my deepest appologies.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please understand, I had no intention of ruining the attempt to sell this product for a reasonable price, nor would I ever devalue our own products to ruin the market for them nor to discredit our own highly regarded customer service ethos.

I was just pleased to see the positive response that the new RS valve has received and I thought it pertinent to mention that it is now our prefered valve to use on the Evo applications.

Again, I appologize if I did so in a way that was dissatisfactory.

Also, the statements that we intended to profit from devaluing our own products to promote new designs are entirely untrue. Obviously, the consumers (yourselves) would see right through any attempt of the sort. It also serves no benefit to us to do so.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, I will be in touch with Tony to try an resolve this issue with him.

If that doesn't show our commitment to the Evo community and the automotive aftermarket as a whole, I am not sure what else I can do.

I will also try to make arrangements to offer some type of credit, discount, or exchange to owners of the exsisting Evo valve. I cannot yet say to what extent, but I will do whatever I can to rectify the situation.

Deepest appologies,
Mike

Tony, I'd jump all over that if I were you, man! If you like it, please post up!

I love the way the old unit held boost and if I knew for sure the new RS won't flutter in my car, I'd buy and recommend. The one I sold to a guy for $50 is on his 3037 car and it holds 30psi on race gas without any trouble whatsoever.

We're on the dyno a lot, so I know the Forge valves hold boost significantly better than stock. I just need to physically feel and see the RS not surge for myself before I commit to buying one.

We try very hard to maintain a very high level of customer satisfaction. Obviously, I slipped up in this instance, and I am willing to make ammends to that regard, but if you are having an issue of your own, please let me try to help you on a one-on-one basis.

Each individual and vehicle are different and deserve their own attention and specific solution.

I will try to provide this to the best of my ability if given the chance.

PM me with your concerns and I will try to help.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope everyone understands that I/we (Forge) are not here on this forum to make a quick dollar.

We are a 10+ year old UK-based manufacturer and we design an build a wide range of products for dozens of applications.

With that in mind, we try very hard to support our dealer network and provide a level of product support and service to the public that is to be envied. We are still human, however, and mistakes can happen, as has occurred in this instance.

I will fully admit personal responsibility in this matter and would hope that it does not reflect on Forge as a whole.

My choice of words and manner of speach in my original post was not appropriately put together to convey the thoughts that I had intended for them to.

Again, I am sorry, particularly to Tony, for this misunderstanding and I will try to remedy it to the best of my ability.
