I have to give Mike credit here, he is rectifying and admitting to his mistake (intended or not) and willing to work it out. I used to have the older diverter valve style and even with the fluttering I still kept it in there, just because it was the shiz. They make a solid damn product, just couldn't get that 1st-gen valve to operate perfectly across the entire model line... new one looks promising though!

Mike, I would like to comend you on retracting and explaining your statement. I also value the fact that you care about past existing customers like myself that purchased the older bov and will take a credit for it in exchange for the newer version. Please PM me with details as to how this will work as I want to be the first to send my older unit in to you.

To everyone that is watching this thread:

Mike@Forge has PM'ed me with regards to earlier posts in this thread.

I appreciate his willingness to "make things right" and I just wanted to let everyone know that he's a stand up guy.

I realize that sometimes, with the immediacy that the internet and forums in general give us, we can sometimes press the "submit" button before we've really understood the weight of the statements that we are making.

I'm sure that at one time or another, we've all been guilty of that. As I stated at the beginning, I know that many people had good luck with the older style valve, I just wasn't one of them. All I wanted to do was try to recoup some of my money to be able to buy a better BOV solution.

As it stands now if all goes as has been said, I'll be reviewing the new RS valve as soon as Mike can get it to me and I'll be as objective as possible in giving my review to the entire EvoM community.

Thank you all for your support and words, I really appreciate it more than you could know....

Mike, thank you for being such a stand up guy and taking care of this situation in a professional and timely manner............

Tony

Thank you for those kind words.

As for the "exchange program", it's easy for me to take care of one person, but for me to offer something to everyone who has an older valve will take some serious doing.

It's looking like it will be a logistical nightmare right now, but I WILL make it happen, regardless.

Please allow me some time to recitify things with Tony and to finish the Group Buy on the new valves and I will be sure to take care of everyone else.

I will do so at the absolute earilest opportunity.

Thanks

Now that gentlemen is a step above and beyond... I'd expect Mike to take care of Tony for the "slip of the lip", but to look into helping out older customers with their older valves is quite classy to say the least...

Mike, I commend you for the way you have taken care of this situation and your offer to who currently have the old style valves. As Zeus said this is truly service above and beyond the standard. We in the Evo community are truly fortuneate to have some truly exceptional vendors.

I sincerely appreciate everyone's gratitude, understanding, and acceptance of my appology and of my willingness to correct the mistake, however, yet again, I think I may have given the wrong idea in some of my previous statements.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since my last post on this thread , many people who currently own the standard Evo recirc. valve have contacted myself and/or the respective dealer through which they purchased the valve and have asked for refunds and/or immediate exchanges of the standard valves for the new RS valve.

I can appreciate everyone's willingness to "upgrade" to the newer product, however, given that I only brought up the idea of offering and "exchange" or "discount" "program" yesterday, many of you have jumped the gun and gotten WAY ahead of yourselves and me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone needs to be aware, that the fluttering problems associated with the standard Evo valves does NOT make them faulty, nor was anyone mislead when they purchased this product directly from Forge or one of our authorized dealers.

The standard Evo valve was the best valve that we had available for the Evo's at the time that it was released by us and purchased by yourselves, and the development of some new valves and technologies have NOT made it obsolete nor faulty.

It can still be made to perform very well on this and other applications, and provides high levels of reliability and boost holding capacity.

If anyone is having difficulty tuning their own valve, however, please let me know and I will do my best to help you tune it appropriately until I am able to make other arrangements.

The best analogy that I can relate to this situation is that this is NOT a recall as would be seen from an automobile manufacturer. It is also no different from a vehicle manufacturer offering a newly styled or newly designed or updated vehicle after the end of the life-cycle of an outgoing model or body style.

It may also be best related to the Evo as a vehicle itself.

Mitsubishi will soon be releasing the Evo 9 with many improvements, just as they have released the Evo 8, the Evo 7 before it, and so on; but this does not make any of those previous versions faulty in any sense of the word.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As I said previously, I WILL be offering some type of arrangements to those of you who own the standard Evo valves, HOWEVER, I have not yet determined when this will happen, nor to what extent this "program" will go.

I have also not yet determined how this "program" will be structured, nor when it will begin.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please be patient with me as I am working with the Evo community as a representative of Forge by myself.

I am trying to do this and many other things as fast as is allowable, and I will be sure to let everyone know when the time comes for something to happen in this regard.

Again, thank you for your understanding and patience.

Best Regards,
Mike

After all that he wrote, you still don't understand??? It doesn't mean that just because you have an old one, you can exchange for a new version. If you are having difficulties, you can call them and they will try to help. Regarding the exchange/discount if you have an old one, it is not happeining yet. It was just an idea at this point. He will still have to work things out such as who qualifies, how much the trade would be, etc. He still needs to work out the who, what, when, where, why.

I hope everyone understands, I'm more than willing to work things out and be sure that everyone has a valve that is working properly for them. Whether it be the exsisting valve or the new one.

I just need a little time to work out what will happen.

Bear with me.
