Wouldnt it be easier to just edit the first post when new names are added to the list and the peeps that are going just post im in or going, instead of posting the whole list everytime.

whats the point? its easier this way, doesnt have to edit it every 5 min. and he doesnt have to read through post like yours looking for whos going or not.
