Few quick newbie questions for new owner

1) Is it safe to upgrade the BOV to a HKS, type-s, or anything similiar.

2) First mods I am doing are turboback exhaust, MBC, turbotimer
a. Should I add an intake of any kind.. if so what - just a cone? If so which kind? Or an AEM short ram, k&n typhoon? etc.

b. What boost should I ran on the MBC with these mods?

c. Best turboback that people prefer for the money

3) Any other small mods that are a "must" besides what I gave?

4) Hows is the car in the snow with stock tires? Remember I am coming from a 350z and corvette so Im use to rwd.

Besides the fact that all of these are easily searchable...

1) Yes, it's safe, but I recommend a JDM MR DV. It's cheap, works like stock, but holds boost wonderfully for the stock turbo with increased boost levels.
2) Great choice to start with exhaust/mbc/tt. Be sure to not do these without also getting a boost gauge.
2a) I recommend the stock intake box with a drop-in filter. If you go with a replacement intake, stfo the Typhoon, please.
2b) Run 20-21 on 93oct
3) Just the boost gauge as I mentioned before. MBC/TBE/filter/BOV are great. Then, you just need a tune to make it all worthwhile (flash or piggyback).
4) Absolutely USELESS in the snow on the stock advans. They are very soft normally, but in the snow/cold, they harden and are like ice skates. The AWD does not help at all in this scenario. With proper winter tires, the car is amazing in the snow.

go with the type-s, and recirc it..

they are all pretty much the same, just diff prices.. make sure you get the car tuned, or youre just wasting money

b. What boost should I ran on the MBC with these mods?

20-22 psi again car tuned..

c. Best turboback that people prefer for the money

megan maybe.. again they are all pretty much the same.. just some a little louder than others.

3) Any other small mods that are a "must" besides what I gave?

a tune..

4) Hows is the car in the snow with stock tires? Remember I am coming from a 350z and corvette so Im use to rwd.

stockers horrible.. best combo in the snow, pull the abs fuse, (dont beleive me search, i live in the poconos i know first hand.) and get a set of bridgestone blizzaks.. the car will not get stuck..

-Buschur Full 3" with a Magnaflow Cat Back- Available at BuschurRacing.com

That has a nice sound (Magnaflow) to it and isn't too loud. If you want loud get the Buschur turbo Back but both are available at BuschurRacing.com

-Walbro 255 Fuel Pump

-Boost controller , Get flashed when they tune your car they will fiddle with your boost.
With these 3 things and a flash you'll notice a big difference.

I've been told by many to wait on a intake, The stock one is pretty good.
Optional things before the tune that would be

-Cams
-Intercooler Piping, Then a BOV

I would have you consider going to Pruven Performnce in CT, but turbotrix is closer. I'm not sure about prices, a costume tune might run you about $300

i say not bad for all the answers. but i would say look at stages and go alone with those. if you dont now what your doing right now. and i would say reflash but if want little hard core and tune your self i would say utec to start off. can make very nice power and tune the car to be nice and smooth with the stuff you want. your going in the right way just dont go cheap and not get gauges. with out that its like finding a neadle in a hey stack. if you know what i mean. i like buschur stuff. they look very nice no bs blind blind they all about how it performes not how it looks. im going to be geting there full 3" as soon as i get back from lost vages woot woot.

Mike, please do not provide answers to these threads. You are not only a noobie to the Evo, you are a noobie to tuning/modding in general. Your answers are not correct, nor are your suggestions proper.

A fuel pump costs less than $100 and is a very good safety item when running increased boost. You suggest a $1000 UTEC to people, but then you tell them an $80 fuel mod is a waste...
