alot of it depends how many they have in stock, if they have many 05 they will move them close to invoice or if they still have 04 new you can get a real steal on them

well, they have about 4 05's in stock, and they are TRYING to convince me that this is that last black SSL they're getting in this year. . .that's when I got a little cautious. Maybe it is, the car had LITERALLY just come in and I test drove it with 5 miles on it. . .I put a deposit down in case I wanted it because I don't want some punk test driving it and revving past 3500rpm, during the critical break-in period. . .
crap, so 34k otd, damn man, it's basically august, I SHOULD be able to get 32k otd with the ssl package. . . .that's like dicking them outta 3k I guess. . .

I ended up paying 32k before ttr for a tarmac black ssl (MSRP was 34414). . . it'll be a couple of weeks before I pick it up since my old ride hasn't been delivered yet. . . .these are going to be some serious sleepless nights. . . .

I bought the Consumer Reports New Car Report for the EVO VIII so I knew what I would be willing to pay. I might as well share with the rest of you:

Dealer base invoice for the EVO VIII is $28,928. Destination charge is $595 and the holdback on this car is (subtract the holdback from the total) $614 bringing total base invoice to $28,909. Dealer invoice on the sun, sound and leather package is $2727 bringing total dealer invoice on the '05 with SSL package to $31,636. This gives you an idea of how little profit margin they are working with on the EVO VIII as MSRP with SSL is $33,819.

If you've owned a Mitsubishi in the last 6 months (had it registered in your name), make sure you have them take the $500 customer loyalty cash off of the price. It's been real easy to be at ease negotiating my price with all of this information.
