How loud can a Walbro FP get?

Ever since my Walbro got installed, it's been getting progressively louder. You can hear it at idle and it's almost louder than the car with a TBE. Before you could only hear it if you stuck your head underneath the car between the front and rear wheels. Now we're talking "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" loud and kind of high-pitched.

Does this mean it's going bad? It also seems to affect idle a little. When the engine stutters, you can hear the pump get less loud. Anyone? I may just buy a new one. Thoughts?

Did you get a tune for the pump? Also check the pump and make sure everything is connected.

I dont know how loud it is.. But usually the aftermarket, higher flowing pumps make more noise... I had 2 external SX pumps on my old GSX and it sounded like a train horn in the car... Hahahahaha....

My pump is quiet for the most part. Got pretty loud about two weeks ago during our Vegas heat wave. Other than that, I haven't noticed it.

My MR has this issue also. I noticed it was more prevalent after I got a custom tune from Dynoflash or on extremely HOT days.

It basically sounds like a medium pitched droning noise when at idle or low speeds. I do not notice it as much when I get above 30 mph because of the noise of the car and outside wind and road noise.

I would have to say that since I am not having any problems with performance that it's a typical noise.

Used to be like that. Now I can hear it with the windows closed at idle.

Mine isnt that loud, however I can hear it from outside the car, just like someone said above... hissing noise almost. Its quite annoying. I wish the Supra TT fuel pump fit like it did in the DSMs. Id much rather have that pump in there. Oh well!
