Disadvantages of upgraded exhaust manifolds

I am debating to whether or not to go with an upgraded exhuast manifold (borla, megan not sure yet). I tried searching but doesnt really give me the answer i am looking for.

Firstly wanted to get all possible disadvantages of getting an upgraded manifold. I have seen alot of them crack, does it cause serious damage to the car when they crack.

Secondly, what manifold you guys are running and for how long and was it worth the money spent?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Mine has been on the car for about7 months.. Dont know how many miles, but everything is fine.. Just keep your stock manifold and if it does crack, re-install the stocker...

You might want to save your cash, because the stock manifold is good for a lot of power.

you get more high end then low end?

the spool slows down a bit on the stock turbo?

the stainless steel one might crack?

they usually don't come with a heat shield?

pros

they give you high end power where it needs it

it looks good

save a bit on the weight... not much

they wont rust like your stock one.

thanks for the info guys i was trying to get as close to 400whp as possible without alky.. i know i know why not. but thats a different story. i was thinking FMIC with piping, exhuast manifold o2 housing 10.5 hotside but that is only ~370. i wont mind going for a bolt on turbo with 680cc injectors that gives 400-420whp and does not sacrifice low end power, but as we all know we dont have a inbetween turbo that does that. so i am stuck
