Transmission Maitenance

Hello, my Evo is currently at about 16,XXX miles and I planned on changing the Transmission/TC oil soon. I was wondering if any of you guys knew how much Mitsu dealers charge for the oil and the service to get it changed. Thanks.

tranny oil, and maybe a new crush washers. You might want to look into magnetic trash collectors too, maybe.

you're going to get killed on the service. I've read posts last week where people were getting charged hundreds of dollars for Trans, T-case, and rear Diff...

My advice is doing it yourself. There's a How-To on EvoMoto.com under the "maintenance" section. It quite possibly might be easier than an oil change...b/c you won't have like a super tight oil filter to take off...

They charge me (my dealership) $130.00 to change all the driveline fluids.

Definitely a DIY mod. Plus, you don't run the risk of Mitsu techs screwing up the fluids (GL-4 in the t-case, etc).

Exactly (GL-4 will ruin the T-case)

24k and hasn't been changed? i think the manual says 15k right? Look at your manual for intervals. Look in the how to section forum to change fluids, not that hard to change fluid. First time it took me about 3 hours though to change all the fluids (oil, trans, TC, rear)
