transfer case removal

transfer case removal

how can i get it out? its now only connected to the reaer drive axle, but is there an internal clip i have to take out? i can't get it disconnected for the life of me. help is needed asap, since i am sending the tranny and transaxle to TRE next week

I just had a clutch put in and the dealer had a hell of a time with it. Not sure what they did though to get it out though. It seems like it might be a common problem.

you need to have that hammer. I always forget the name of that tool.

you have to have that tool to get it out.

need 2 people to slide it out.

a slap hammer? where would i connect it to?
i used it for the output shafts already, but the service manual didnt say anything about the tc itself

The T-case should slide right off the drive shaft. There is no clip.

I haven't removed the T-case but i was right where you are when i was installing my clutch. I left the t-case in when installing my clutch. Anyway, try unbolting one of the driveshaft supports (the front one) and remove the driveshaft from the t-case, not the t-case from the drive shaft.

yup tried that one, the service manual links said that it should come right off, but im yankin on it, prying and the damn thing won't come off.. really frustrating...anyone who has done this have any ideas?
