Light weight sound deadening
Light weight sound deadening
I currently have my entire trunk gutted. I installed a new exhaust last night and its loud
I was wondering if anyone has used any light sound deadening material. Dynamat tends to be pretty heavy and I want to stay from that.
I think someone makes a spray but, I don't think that really works too well. I've actually seen an EVO with "Rhinoliner" in the gutted trunk that MIGHT help but I don't know how heavy that stuff is.
They had this paint-on material that was being sold on Ebay. I can't remember the name. It came in like regular paint and basically you paint it on and it dries somewhat tacky and supposed to help with sound deadening the metal it's painted unto. It had a light blue color to it.
I thought about getting it for my old car, but forgot all about it. Much cheaper than Dynamat sheets and lighter of course. Not really sure if helps as much as dynamat, but if it helps alittle bit, I think it might be worth it.

I doubt you will find somethign lightweight and i really dont think the spray does much unless its sprayed thick. The sprya is pretty much a rubberized spray which is a downright mess. I think your best bet is the dynamat extreeme or tsunami makes the same stuff with the aluminum backing. YOu prob looking at about 30 pounds per pack which should cover your entire bottom trunk plus maybe a little more... .if its lightweight i dont see any way for it to block the sound
