I have no idea WHAT DEALERSHIP "Score" went to, but I just got back from Roseville Mitsu... and I sat in the Red EVO with Sunroof and Large Spoiler. It is a Beautiful car! However, it was locked in a back room with bad liting and they did not even have the car's battery connected yet, so we could not start it up or see the lit instrument panel. It does feel as solid as a rock tho... and I was impressed. Then I looked at the sticker and saw the MSRP of $30,800.00 including the 595.00 destination charge.
Grr. ****ing A. I went to the same dealer. I didnt mention anything about EvoM.net or anything. I pretended that I had no clue what the Evo was. Probably didnt help me. I feel like going back now and ripping him a new *** hole.

This is amazing. It seems all of the west coast dealers are trying to rape their customers. Yet a lot of mid to east coast people are saying they're getting it for MSRP. What's up with that? I'm glad they started arriving but damn. For $45K I'd be waiting for the new Supra to arrive.

I then spoke with John Miller the "Internet Specialist" and he told me the mark up was the "agreed upon markup of the Northern California Mitsu Dealers."
You should call the California State Attorney's Office and ask them it that is legal. Competitors getting together to set markups could be price fixing. CD distibutors "got together" and set pricing on music CDs. Now they are paying millions in a class action settlement.

Maybe you can get a free EVO courtesy of John Miller and the other co-conspirators.

i'm just hoping really hard that everyone tells these idiot dealers who are trying to mark these things up so much to go stick it where the sun don't shine

Has been selling JUNK here in the US the past few years and so we get stuck with these non - enthusiats know nothing about car scam artist dealers

frankly - it makes me sick to think there are people out there stupid enough to pay 15 k over sticker on a 29k car - real idiots

There are many dealers charging msrp - whats the matter - can't wait another week or two ?

They have to be a total idiot to pay 15k over MSRP. I'd be looking at new M3s at that price!

Then, way below that was the "Dealer-Markup" of $14,995.00 !!!

That brought the price up to $45,795.00

I then spoke with John Miller the "Internet Specialist" and he told me the mark up was the "agreed upon markup of the Northern California Mitsu Dealers." He did say.. that sooner or later the price should come down.

Oh Really??
That's price fixing and illegal. You should mention that and see what they say then!!

People were... but nobody should now.

There are e46 M3's sitting on dealer lots in the midwest.

And people have the ability to custom order them, under MSRP.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - you CA guys, there are Evo's available outside CA for MSRP. Call around.

My dealer still has some out of their second allocation, MSRP guaranteed, be here in less than 30 days (hopefully).

Call around, ask around. PM me for local details.

Much better to take a $100 flight and drive your new car back than to pay $2500 or more over MSRP.

California has a rule that no car can be imported into the state from another state with less than 7500 miles on it...... so that would eliminate them from shopping too far.

http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/NonCAVeh/NonCAVeh.pdf

The 7,500 miles and under stipulation is only a concern on vehicles that do not have CA emissions certification.

http://www.epa.gov/autoemissions/E-M...olution-03.htm

According to the site above, there is only one version of the EVO and it is eligible to be sold in all 50 states.

So unless I understood something incorrectly, it appears that CA EVO shoppers would have no problem looking out of state for a car. Of course, anyone actually contemplating to do this should contact the appropriate authorities and make sure first.
