Another "what to do" need advice thread (power mods)

Ok guys I'm having a hard time coming up with the best/most logical next step in my modding adventure. For the next several months I'm going to be on a tight budget so I can get a beater car and start saving for a gt30r/gt35r kit & a built motor.

My current power mods:

Electronics
- SAFC-II
- PLX M-500 Wideband
- Greddy Turbo Timer
- Dynoflash (mail in)
- Greddy Boost Gauge

Engine
- Hallman MBC w/Cockpit Controller @20psi
- Buschur Racing Intercooler
- Buschur Racing Lower IC Piping
- Buschur Racing 3" Downpipe
- Buschur Racing 3" Catback
- Catco 3" High Flow Cat
- HKS 264/264 Cams
- HKS TP DLI II (Ignition)
- Works Drop-In Filter
- Kevlar Timing Belt
- ARP Headstuds
- Odyssey Mini Battery
- HKS Ground Kit
- Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
- JDM MR BOV
- Works Drop-in Air Filter

My current AFR 3rd and part of 4th gear (20psi)

I've been thinking about a few things to start with... First I need to get an Upper IC pipe. Some additional tuning might help on the SAFCII as well. I also need to get some better logging software so I can see timing and what not.

Next is where I'm still fuzzy.. I could get a meth/akly kit so I can run more boost but from what I've read the SAFCII isn't a real good tool for this. I would probably have to spend a good chunk of money for a custom flash.. but I'm not sure if you can run without alky when you have the car flashed for it.

I really only want the extra power doing race situations. I've thought of maybe a 50 shot of NOS but I'm not sure if that would be the best way to go.

I won't go on and on.. but if you're bored please give me some suggestions. I'm really happy with the car but it just needs a little more kick to keep me happy til I can go crazy on the motor.

I'd either go with AEM or nitrous.

I really want to wait til I upgrade turbo to do AEM ems :\ That is an expensive piece. NOS is what I've been thinking hard about. As long as it's setup safe and I can keep my finger off it all the time I think it would be good.

Would it be safe to use my wideband/safcII to tune for say a 35 or 50 shot? Honestly I have no experience with NOS.. I know the basics about it but I've never had it in any car I've owned.

I Was Wondering If Someone Could Tell Me If I Would Gain Anything By Tuning My Cams And Gears, I Had Them Put In Yesterday Here In Oklahoma, HKS 280/280 With Fidinza Cam Gears, And ARP Headstuds, Please Let Me Know Your Opinion.

i am in the same dilemma, i have pretty much same mods except i am on the stock intercooler, but i dont want to go down the road of nitrous, unless i spray it on my intercooler, i have been thinking about the methanol injection, i have talked to a tuner about that and he seems to have high praises for it

NOS direct port wet- @100 to 150 hp and "semi safe" (get a nitrous controller to hit progressive) total cost-@1500 bucks- You can still use this in the future w/built motor and hairdryer!

1500 bucks? I thought NOS was around 4-500 for a kit and then another 2-300 for accessories. I'm not lookin to run more than a 50 shot if I even go that route. Meth/alky seems like the best answer but I don't think the SAFCII will do me much good.

For the price of NOS or Meth (almost) I could get a TME turbo which would give me an extra lil kick. I've already got all the gaskets/washers nuts bolts I need to bolt it on.

A single fogger kit is perfectly fine for a 50 shot. I would go with either NX or Zex. Then get one stage colder plugs, a bottle heater, and a window switch. An SAFCII is more than enough to tune in the nitrous.

Nitrous is truely tuned by reading spark plugs. Just watching AFR isn't enough if reliability is a must. But nitrous wont affect your turbo tune, so you tune without nitrous, after that plug in the wet single fogger with the nitrous jet you want and a safe fuel pill. Tune from there by reading plugs. Nitrous will also increase boost.

I'd never put Nos. since you done by Dynoflash. you should save $ for logging software or something. you dont really need the SAFC. what the upper IC pipe. get the Helix Hardpipe Kit. I'll Just built the motor. I have seen people got over 400WHP on our turbo no Nos or meth/akly. just play with boost, when you done everything then get a custom tune from Al(Dynoflash) to help you with A/F and Timing.

one more thing for you "justchil" when you play with the high boost get the injectors before tune.
By the way, how do you think about:PLX M-500 Wideband
HKS TP DLI II (Ignition)
I just thinkin to get them. how do they work. Thankyou!

The wideband is alright.. the software really sucks. You will need additional software to log timing/boost etc... Honestly I'm not sure how the HKS TP DLI II helped me out.. I had cams/clutch new IC and piping put in at the same time.

I'm starting to think the TME turbo doesnt look too bad.. It shouldn't require any extra engine management for now.. and I believe it will run just fine on stock injectors. Not to mention it would be a learning experience to install
