man this sucks.. I really dont want to take my evo in to the dealer and have them rag the **** out of it... I will make sure I write down my mileage and let it be known I do not wish for them to test drive it more than 1 mile

Wow, has anyone's engine actually caught fire yet? Sounds like they started this recall before anything bad actually happened. Be careful out there everyone!

the coolant that mitsu uses is not flamable, the dex-cool coolant GM uses is, you can tell the difference by color, dex-cool- redish orange= flamable. mitsu coolant- really dark green almost emerald= not flamable. and where did you get this info from? because everytime mitsu comes out with a recall they ALWAYS send the recall out to the dealerships BEFORE it is released to the public. so far there hasnt been any new recalls since the cooling fan relay recall.

I just contacted MMNA and my local dealership and provided the last 8 of my VIN. According to both, there is no active recall for my vehicle.

Out of curiousity, is it possible this could change once the recall goes active on August 15th?

Just the 05's I got an 03' I don't see why they would change the hoses on the 05's to ones that suck.

not necessarily. The could have recieved a bad batch from their supplier and are replacing them all out of caution.

Same here, they ran the last 8 digits of my VIN and said my car is fine. I guess it's only some of the '05 Evo that have this problem.
