Reverse Lock Out
Reverse Lock Out
My bro was thinking about purchasing an evo, but he is coming from a nissan 350z and he is worried that it will be hard for him with no reverese lockout. has anybody ever had this problem before??
Well has your bro ever driven a regular 5 speed before?
Just keep reminding him there is NO 6th gear!!! NO 6th gear! NO 6th gear!
Unless he goes and buys an MR... then he won't have any problems.

umm. i have driven four speed all along. i see no difference. Is he slow. I mean no offense but driving is thought involved. not just hey im gonna cruise and forget that i know anything. I cant see honestly making that mistake. maybe its just me.
Something funny. I used to commute to work with a guy who drives an STI. We're both tired as hell coming home, he's at a light or something, pulls out, shift shift shift shift shift....shift.

He'd have to try very hard to get the Evo into reverse @ speed. Enough effort so it should make him think "WTF, oh, 5 speed"
5th -> reverse is not a 'normal' feeling shift by far.

What makes him think that he can just put the car in reverse while crusing along in 5th?
As far as my driving, the gear I'm in depends on the speed I'm going. With the way our five speed gear ratio's are, he would have no reason to shift into a sixth gear. Unless he was going about 140 mph, then he might wonder about shifting into a higher gear. Honestly, he should have no problems at all. When shifting into fifth, you know that it's the last gear. Trust me.
