Opinions on price from dealer
C'mon people, the IX is due to hit the streets in a couple of months and the dealers are desperate to off-load unsold VIIIs (someone on another thread said there are currently around 600 new unsold VIIIs sitting on dealer lots).
I think someone with good negotiating skills could probably get below invoice on a brand spanking new VIII AND the 0% APR offer which started today.

I'd just be very sure that this wasn't a demo car, or a take home car for dealership employees. Whats the first thing anyone test driving an evo does? They look for a nice straight stretch of road and gun it, racing through as many gears as fast and as hard as they can. Whats the mentality of a dealership employee taking the car home for the night? "Not my car, F it!" Talk about a horrible way to break in a new car.
They said they have 12 Evo's in the showroom and to come pick one out. I want a black one as long as it was driven much like suggested above. Wish me luck, I'm going in there tonight.
Thanks,
Scott

Ok. So here is the deal. Maybe you can help me figure out which is the better route to go.
With my money down($6000)&TTL = financing $26,165 @ 0% 60 months = $436
With my money down($6000)&TTL = financing $23,382 @ 5.95% 60 months = $451
Either I get the car for $26995 + TTL - downpayment or
I pay the dealer invoice 29,XXX + TTL - downpayment and get 0%
I'm going to see what my credit union offers me tomorrow, I am hoping in the 4.X% rate.
What are your opinions? Raped? Dealer tricks? The car has only 9 miles.
Thanks,
Scott

Well, tell your credit union that they're offering 0% and see how close they can come to that. There is probably a cutoff point at which financing with your credit union is superior to the full price at 0%.
get the car with the 5.95% financing for now (just be sure there is no penalty for early pay off), then find a lower rate loan.
