God forbid the AC was on. However, once the car was above 6000rpm it was pretty fast. Third gear and above in vtec was sweet... Now the Evo is the opposite. 1st - 3rd gear pulls amazing. The car is very fast off the line. Once it reaches fourth gear it does not seem to pull as hard as the s2000 did. IMO the s2000 was faster on the highway and the Evo is faster light to light. My s2000 was bone stock. My evo has an 3" DP, 3" Exhaust (next is the test pipe), Profec B set at 21lbs, fuel pump, and a KN cone filter. I know I need a flash, but I can only speak for what I have at this point.

The evo is my 6th car. I had a 95 eclipse GSX, 95 Integra GSR, 00 Integra Type R, 01 CLK 430, 01 S2000, and now the Evo. So my opinion is not biased. The evo is deffinetly the quickest of the bunch, but i think the s2000 was faster (for now) being that I live in FL the heat really slows the evo down. During the day, the car is a pig. At night, it is deffenetly a monster...

Hope this helps
Yes it does help indeed. This exactly what I had heard from unbiased evo/S2K owners. Driver for driver, stock for stock, the evo is quicker off the line/at low speeds and the S is quicker at high speeds. 70 mph in 3rd (right at vtec) is very fast accel). Either way there is not much in it, which is why they can keep up with stock sti's. I will confirm this with a vid when I get the chance to make one.

FYI, all S2000 under wide open throttle automatically shuts off the a/c. If your foot is on the floor the a/c is off.

I have also noticed that the evo feels way quicker on a 60 deg morning drive to work rather than a 90 deg drive home.

i would take those 4500 you would save and just put it into your car....you can get a nice clutch...new brakes rotors/lines/pads, and still have some money for extra go fast goodies if you ask me

Hey hey thought I would give my thoughts here....
Now I am a huge fan of the evo's, and would love to hve one myself sometime soon. I gatta say though that having an S2K and racing many, and I mean many< evo's from stops and rolls. The S is at a dissadvantage from a stop, it will loss considering the evo is launched properlly. Ofcourse most of these evo drivers do not know the proper way to launch there car. From a oll is a different story. After about 70 the S will hang and even begin to pull aheadof a stcok evo. I have done so to numerous evo's aswell as one MR. Although I will say that the MR put up a better fight. By about 120-130 the S should be well ahead. Now am not trying to start a wr and say the S is the better car because that's not how I feel. Like I said I am a huge evo fan, but I can admit the truths about the two cars. From a stop the evo, but from a roll the edge goes to the S2K. Cnsidering both cars are stock ofcourse because once the evo gets a couple mods then the S really won't stand a chance.

If there are stcok evo owner out there tht say they have bet S2K from a roll, then no offense but the S driver probably couldn't drive. To prove this I wouldn't mind getting some runs if anyone is down for them. Should be good to get them on video.

well honestly living in Cali the winter isn't really winter...lol, but for wht i's worth the S feels very good during winter seasons. Ofcourse you wouldn' want to hit VTEC in the rain or snow or else the rear just give out. The car handles well, and actually feels muh better during winter times, guess because there isn't much bogging due to there being no heat soak. It' no 4wd, but it does well for wht it is.

mitus rates it at a 5hp difference, i doubt you'll feel a difference.

both cars taper off boost too. I say stay with the 2004

Mitsu rates it at a 5hp and 13tq difference, but the dyno numbers and 1/4-mile et/mph indicate more like a 20whp difference. I don't know if that's enough to "feel" a difference, but I'd venture to say it is. 05s are definitely faster from the factory, and the factory taper does not change this. When one has a larger hotside and runs more boost from the factory, you better believe it's faster...

A good friend of mine has an S2000 and I was killing him from a roll and standing start when I was stock. He could't keep up with an Eclipse GST from a roll. Standing start he would destroy the GST though.

If you're worried about highway cruising at a constant rpm with a new car...you could always mapquest a different backroad route

28K sounds like a good deal considering its SSL...

Was this from a dealer in Jersey?

And to possibly help on your answer on an S2k in the snow...I've owned two Mazda RX-7's (2seater, rwd like the Honda) for over 7 years...that means 7 NJ winters. Never had a problem...all depends on your driving ability. Sure, the safe bet would be awd in the snow...but it all comes down to how confident you are behind the wheel.

Why can't you make any of your own decisions? I didn't know babies were allowed to buy 30k cars, good lord. I highly HIGHLY doubt they will give you an EB 05 w/SSL for 28k, especially from phone negotiation. There will be some sort of hook involved when you show up...
