OEM JDM Navigation/Stereo...

Is it possible to get the oem navigation headunit and install it in an USDM evo?

Has anyone ever done this?

Thanks

This might be obvious but the Navi is going to be in Japanese, have you thought of that?

The other thing is that I don't think you will find a compatible disk to load a U.S. map. sorry.

No need to roll your eyes at me.

There are tons of import cars that you can buy OEM navi for and can find the cd's in english..

Example: VW, AUDI

Don't get your knickers in a twist. I was J/K, my point is that a "JDM" system was never designed to be in English, the firmware I mean. Trust me, we tried simply switching out the Navi DVD on my friends Landcrusier (impoted straight from Japan) and it didn't work, similar experience with a chaser with aftermarket Navi. BTW, this was in the middle east and not in the US. Just letting you know my limited experience.

It would probably be cheaper just to buy one aftermarket...

i think it'll be cheaper to buy something over here.

yeh.

since you get that, you have to get the oem wiring as well as the surrounds.

but if you want, and money isn't a problem, call up gruppe-s, they always get stuff from japan, i'm sure they have a source over there.
