Something smells and its coming from California...
These California "dealers" are fishin and the bait is smelly ol'e hype. I don't know how car sales in Cali are but on the right coast they suck. Sit tight and call the bluff. They will sell a few to some knuckleheads, but who cares. Those will be for re-sale in 3 months.
Remember, this is a very specialized car and only a handful of enthusiast are actually going to buy it. When the dealerships bring these cars in, they will need to sell them, i.e. when you eat like an elephant you need to **** like an elephant. If you wait, MSRP will be moving west. Just hang tight until us east coast folks start digitizing our bill of sales at MSRP and posting them.

I still chuckle everytime I see several 350z's out at each of the local dealers, who assured me they were all pre-sold through April (thats what they told me in Nov).

I assure them that when boomers dream at night about cruising with a young 40 year old girl, it is NOT in a sub compact with a park bench on the back. California dealers are acting like carney's who sell bootlegged cigarettes behind the cotton candy tent. They should not get any pizza....
In my opinon the EVO is a special purpose car and appeals to a very small vertical market. Eraser tires plus a noisy and harsh ride should eliminate many of the boomer crowd. Besides, they can get into a 350Z or low mileage (5,000- 8,000) Z06 01' Corvette for 38K to 40k and satisfy the need for speed. Late model M3's are within reach for that price.

I spoke with one of those cali dealers today
At first he wanted 10,000 over list
Then i started to haggle him down
By the end of the convo he was down to 2500 over list and was including truck shipping to CT
I told him i would pay msrp and shipping and that is it
They called be back two more times leaving me voice messages
Anyone thinking of paying one dime over MSRP - don'tbe a punk - you will have plenty of time to pay out your you know what over the next year or two with your high insurance costs - dont be the dealer's *****
