Just as a heads up, I dynoed my wifes new WRX wagon on Daves Mustang dyno, and it was within 10 HP of Cobb tunings stock HP results on their Mustang dyno. Taking into account that the car is just barely broken in, and will make at least 5 more HP at 5000 miles than it is now at 1000 miles that is right in line with other Mustang dyno's out there.

Dave,

A shop in my town just got a MD AWD dyno and they were running tests today and I was invited down so they could have a AWD car to use. The Mustang rep that was here is the same guy that set up yours...for the life of me I can't remember his name. Anyways he said that the dyno I ran on today is identical to the one you have.

My car is running the Buschur Stage 4 with a Dynoflashed ECU. The only non Buschur parts are my IC piping and the fuel rail. Boost is set at 21psi and am running pump gas (93 octane). Just thought I would post to let people see what your parts can do. Here is the results from my last run of the day. Now I just need to hook up my Alky injection and get the 20G

I am just curious why the dyno starts late on the rpms and ends early. Does your dyno do the same?

Since your car would make right around 300 wheel HP on Daves dyno, I have no doubts that the guy setting it up showed the owner how to cheat.... just like he showed Dave how to cheat. Dave is leaving it at the factory settings.

I agree with KEith. There is no way your car is making close to 400 hp\tq on a mUstang dyno with your mods. Also why the hell do dyno owners print graphs like that. It just sucks!! Zoom in and make the graph better.

Looking at my dyno result I'm starting to think they put in a wrong correction factor as well.

Don should be the guys name, that is who helped set ours up.

The dyno has been manipulated already, the car will not make that much power with what it has if the dyno is set up just as it is suppose to be.

The weight and HP@50 is correct. My guess is the roll weight was tampered with, Don knows how to do it, as we discovered it when he was here.

Since this is the only dyno in 200 miles I don't have a comparison from another dyno. I would love to have this dyno state the same as yours. What roll weight are you using? I know on my first run I got a outragous number and he said he had the wrong roller weight in. He changed it to 3600. Is there anything else he needs to change to get the dyno setup better. I will go down there today and ask what he has manipulted.

My roll weight is set at 3333.75. That is how it came from the factory. Couple other MD's out there are also set at 3600, I have heard from the owners of the dyno's. I have another here that was recalibrated (which I need to do) and he said his calibrated to 3476.85.

To answer the question, mine in AWD is 3333.75 right now.

There's an easy way to find out. Go to the track, don't suck at driving and find out what your trap speeds are. Dynos are only good for tuning and even that is questionable on some of them.

Agreed. At the track you can get real world data. Then again it is apples and oranges.

Don't mean to hijack your thread Dave....Went down and talked to Don at the shop and he said there was an issue yesterday with them being off a couple teeth on something that would make the dyno read higher that actual. He said he fixed it and I am scheduled to go in first thing in the morning. I also cleared up the roller weight question with him...I ran on my last run with roller weight of 3000lbs. Tomorrow I will have him put in your weight you run. He also said that everything else is at factory settings. So tomorrow's run should be more realistic. I don't drag race but I do AutoX and I usually get top in class and top Pax time. Does anyone know how accurate the 1/4 mile sprint test is on the mustang? I will delete the dyno run I posted and wait for the final test. First day testing found the bugs so hopefully tomorrow will be fine...Sorry for the bogus dyno sheet. They just did a run with a supercharged 05 Viper and it put down 740.

Wow, very odd, with only a 3,000 roller weight the car should have made no power at all, instead it was pretty darn high for what is done.

It is going to be interesting to see what happens now.

When the base roller weight is lower than what it really is, the numbers read high. I had a guy I auto-x with come in and use our 2WD dyno. He has a late 80's civic with the 1.5L motor running in CSP. The base weight of the dyno is about 1900lbs normally. We had about 1300lbs in the computer and he put out 140HP. He should only make about 110 at most. We fixed the weight and got the right number.

Was the BR440 the old version like I have (with the integrated wg)? If so I maybe I should go with the AEM before I do turbine housing update.

Odd Slorice, as when we raise our roller weight the power goes up. The guy that made 340 whp at the shootout was at 3333.75, I put in 10,000 on roller weight and it made 860 whp. Everyone else I have spoken with with a MD has also raised the roller weight to make the numbers higher.

4ring, yes, that is the exact same turbine housing as your turbo has.
