i rather wait and get the custom ecu tuned with the boost that i want.
and it wasn't wasting money at all. you get there, meet others, and have fun.
i had fun.
Not true. Changing boost does not require a retune, especially when you have no tuning, because you run very rich from the factory above 5k at WOT, and turning up the boost some just leans that out a bit, but you'll still be rich.

Who told you that you have to get tuned to change the boost? You already have an EBC, so you could be having fun with it right now, but if you don't care, then that's up to you.

i live in vegas where the elevation sucks and I ran consistent between 13.9-14.2 best trap was 98. the 13.9 was the last run and when I finally figured out how to launch better using the 5k limiter. By the way, what 60"s should we be getting. I started at 2.2 and my last was2.0 which I know can be better.

jshin80, what is your 60ft times. That will explain almost all. You should be in the 1.7-1.8's to get good times.

I havent' drag my 05 yet but it would probably be very difficult to launch with that 5000rpm rev limiter. My 03 evo was reved to about 5500 with momentum for good launch and that ran 13.5's @102 or something and i'm sure the 05 has more power.

thanks for the info.
i am used to drive audi turbo, whatever boost you are shooting, you have to have fuel and timing mapped for that boost. playing around boost alone won't give me any power<-- this is my theory and i felt big difference between ecu reflash and just boost controller alone. maybe that's not the case with mitsu evo.
so how much boost would you recommend for stock evo like mine?
currently i am running 19psi and then falls off ~=18 to redline w/ 93 octane gas.
obviously, i don't feel any gain with current setup.
