Basically bro...it's all about age, location, and driving experience...
if your under 24 and have a few tickets or accidents...and you have a new car and want full coverage...look at paying an arm and a leg, maybe a lil more...insurance companies suck...Even if you have a clean record your still gonna pay a lot..

I called Geico yesterday and got my quote.

I'm 24 and have 0 points or accidents in the past 3 years, i got quoted at $2100 for the year. Considering i live in NY that isn't half bad. I am currently paying 1900 for the car i'm trading in for the Evo (2000 honda S2000)

I was quoted $1395 / year by Liberty Mutual, but I am 28 and have had no accidents or tickets ever.
I do however live in one of the highest insurance areas of the country (Harris County/Houston TX). Back in VA my insurance would have been half that.

I always found Geico to be a lot more than Liberty Mutual BTW. Progressive is pretty cheap for around here too, but with them you get what you pay for (no service for claims and an all around hassle).

I was quoted at 1100 for 6 months, by progressive. I'm 23, 1 ticket on record, in the dc-metro area.

Again, they're all right about it being really how old you are and where you live. I live outside Milwaukee in a suburb where crime is very low and I'm over 25, so my insurance is only $451 every 6 months.

How much did they offer on trade? I have a 2001 S2000 with 15k miles and I am debating about trading it in, or selling it on my own.

Thanks....

Does anyone have a VIN for the car? My insurance company cannot give me a quote without it. Can someone help me out?

I shouldn't be paying any more than my Z06. I pay 140 a month now.

Ask your dealership for a vin. If they don't have it they are not getting the car for allocation 1-3.

Thanks....

they are giving me 21K, and i have 29,000 miles... i don't mind the trade in considering you only have to pay the tax on the difference...

It's amazing how little the salesmen know there. Only the sale manager has all the information. It's like he is bogarting the info.

My insurance company still has no info on the car yet. We did a mock up of the car to find out an estimate. Something doesn't add up with it. According to them I'd be paying more than I paid on my Prowler and on my Supra!!! WTF? I have no points against me. I'm 27 and have a good driver discount plus discounts for home insurance, multi car discount, and anti-theft discount. And it still comes out much higher than anything I've ever owned. I want the real info to come in cuz that has to be a mistake. My Surpa was a 6 cyl with twin turbos and much more expensive to boot. There's no logical reason a 4 banger with 4 doors and a turbo charger that makes less power should cost more. They're telling me $740 something every 6 months. I've never had an accident and haven't had a ticket in about 10 years. Nothing ever went on my driving record. Only peace of mind I have is that after owning the cars I have for a little bit the rates seemed to drop fairly quickly. I have Farmers insurance for those interested.

I am also pissed off.

I was quoted 1150 per year. that is 400 bucks for a car that was more expansive at the time. My insurance guy told me that they got the lancer base price 14K and added 9k to the price, so they can get a higher rate WTF?

When I gave him the price of the Evo he gave me the amount per year, He told me that are not looking at performance, basically just the price to replace the car or parts in case of an accident.
