dont forget your friends in the media, when I bought my WRX in 04 the dealership told me since I was active duty military I didnt have to pay sales tax in KY. well a week later they called me up and said it was a mistake. after going ape on them I said fine I already have 2K miles on the car and the windows are tinted. but you know what you better have a reason for the local news channel because when I hang up I'm going to have them investigate you for lying to military who barely make enough money as it is. this was at the heart of the war so screwing over the military is a bad press and bad for the company.

Not to mention I was best friends with the newspaper editior, so I was like if you want this bad press then thats up to you. If not you pay for your mistake, so in return we worked out a deal they paid 80% and I paid 20% of the sales tax like 300 bucks. Not only that the manager gave me a free auto dimming mirror (200 bucks), and the 100K extra mileage warranty.

use the angle of a college student who has dreamed of this car since you where 12. now your dreams are ruined because of Mitsu.

I went to buy my car on a Saturday and the finace system went down. I didn't get my car until Tuesday after the approval came through on that Monday.

It's your car buddy, keep it and call a lawyer.

Dude, drive the sh*t out of it. Put huge miles on it so that they have to sell it as a used car. They will lose more money on the deal then by just letting you continue with the deal. Tell them you have to drive for your job or something if they as why so many miles. Drive it 24/7 if you have to, give it to a friend to drive at night. If you have gap coverage. leave it unlocked at a mall parking lot so that it gets stolen.

That's just a few of the things I'd do. Sorry about the BS.

finance company or not, THEY SHOULDNT LET THE CAR LEAVE IF THEY ARENT "SURE" ABOUT THE DEAL!!!

And eating 2k in profits so you can 5% for 28k over years is nothing. The interest will work out to be around 3-4k. if i owned this car I'd blow them off. Ignore phone calls and do what I feel like. I cant see how they can legally take the car back because they sold it to cheap or too low of an APR.

Let me go sell a ACT/Fidanza combo and then call the customer back and ask for more $$$. I see this as them being a bunch of *ssholes and not knowing sh*t and attemtping to screw you over after the fact for their mistakes. Tell them to go **** themselves.

they aren't asking for more money, they are asking for LESS money. They were trying to help the guy out, with his obviously $hitty credit. A higher authority said no. Nothing they can do about that. Thats why that clause is there.

Obviously, they were trying to get this guy the best deal they could...fighting for him to get 0%. I work at a bank, i know how dealers are...and how hard they work to get a good rate for someone.

Its going to cost him 1k more over 5 years.....that is peanuts to have such terrible credit. he should take the deal and run with it...he's never gonna get anything else CLOSE to that.

probably the most intelligent statement in this entire thread.

If you really want the car the change in rate shouldn't affect that. additionally, I'm sure if you read the contract that was written it was "pending final finance company approval".

I think it sucks, but let's just go to this point of view. I have a friend who also purchased an EVO from Thompson Mitsubishi in Punta Gorda FL. Well they beat the living s&*t out of the car. Needless to say the engine blew 5k after he drove it off the lot.

Even if you give the car back be nice to it. Someone elce will buy it and they will be here on the forums. How would you feel if you were the inocent party that ended up with the car.

DO the math and see how much in finance charges you would wind up paying in 5 years and see if it close to the additional $2K they are offering.
