Broken Bolts / Drill out

I have 1 snapped stock spring/bolt on my downpipe to o2 housing from a previous installer. Im going to be switching dp's and will need to drill out the snapped bolt.
Will a 12v cordless black and decker have enough juice to drill through the bolt and drill out with the craftsman bolt drill out bits?

IT will do it but you may only get halfway before you need a battery charge.
You can but regular electric drills nowadays for like $30 and it's always worth having one cause cordless drills go dead at the worst times.

Reverse bits are the best thing to use. Load the broken bolt up with PB blaster.

Yep, PB Blaster is the shiznit but it takes time and patience on really stubborn bolts.

Been there before... spray, wait, tap, tap, tap. Spray, wait, tap, tap, tap.

I usually soak all the bolts w/ PB over night...most bolts will come off w/ ease....anyway, back to your question, you could try a dremel....

Did you stripped it going in or just snapped off due to overtightening?

Thunder bits from Snap-on. Chew through those bolts like butter.

Or just upgrade your O2 housing.

PB blaster + propane tourch gun = almost any bolt will come out freely.

I replaced my exhaust mani and broke a stud going into the turbo housing while removing it, things went down hill from there. From this expierence, I would recommend the following;

1. Take a deep breath.
2. Remove the radiator (yea, the fan and all that crap too)
3. Remove O2 housing. Drill\remove broken bolt (threads will probably be screwed).
(better yet replace with upgrade O2 housing and new gasket. While your at it, have you considered a 10.5 hotside or TME. Now is a good time to think about it.)
4. Reassemble with copious amounts of adult beverages.
5. You have my sympathy. Good luck.
