Its not too much but if your on stock ECU its going to be a pain in the butt. Your gas mileage will suck, and you might throw a CEL. But you'll love the cams!
all depends on your engine management. i usually hear that you need a standalone or a really reall really good flash if you want to run 280s with the stock ECU....for those of us who are getting used to these cams being around.......remember they are a very aggressive cam.
I have GSC cams 272I/264E and it's awesome the car feels great compare to the stock cams, plus you save money as well as they're cheaper too.
I am not using cam gears so you save even more you don't really need cam gears.
Your gas mileage probably will depend how hard you drive the car regardles what cams you're using.

Realize that you need to upgrade your valvetrain for those cams.....anything above the 272 is advised.

What is the differance between 280/280 and 272/272?
I asked a friend about poeple who do the 272/264 and he said it was not worth it. he said how can you have more intake and not the same exhuast. or the other way around. might as well do 272/272. instead of one and the other?

As for the cams themselves, it's definitely going to be a very lopey idle. A stand-alone EMS is definitely needed if you want a fairly stock like idle. Otherwise a really good custom flash might help smooth it out a little.
I beleive Pruven run the 280/272 combo, HKS 280 and JUN 272

I have the 280's. love them, and love the idle (lopey yes), car doesnt die on me, but it did only once with the AC on full. no need to change the valve-train, I also asked about this, and was told "no-need". I will eventually though.
I also have the 280's with an EMS, and I love them. The idle is a little lopey, but with a little more tuning, it will smooth out. They really do come alive after 4 grand. An awesome setup.

With larger duration, your effective powerband moves higher in the RPM range. So with upgrade springs/retainers you can take advantage of what is possible...no top-end power loss, as long as your turbo can keep up.
I have the 280's and when i'm driving aggressive running 28 psi with the Meth, the gas gauge looks like a second hand on a clock. Just drops. I have no doubt in my mind I could kill a gas tank in 2 hours if I drove crazy the whole time, maybe less...
i just got them in so havent just cruised around yet, idk what low throttle MPG is yet...
