Not really. The boost peaks higher (20.3psi), holds higher, and ends the taper higher (17+psi). The 05s are stronger up top as evidenced by their ability to hit 105mph stock on pump gas...

So is the 10.5 hotside also a factor for 05 running better?

It is the BIGGEST factor.

All? Well, they all should be that much stronger, but there are always anomalies where some 03s will be stronger than normal and some 05s will be weaker than normal, but on average, the 05s are about 20whp stronger. I hit 104mph on my first try with the MR, and plenty of others hit 105 on the 05 GSRs.
