How to adjust APS BOV.....

I just recently purchased a used APS valve and it didn't come with any instructions on how to adjust it. It has a nut and an allen screw at the top of the valve so I'm assuming that you loosen the nut and tighten/loosen the allen screw to either put more or less pressure on the spring, is this correct?

Anyone with any knowledge about the valve is welcome to chime in........

Thanks,

Tony

Yep that is correct. Don't forget to retighten the nut after you are done with the screw.

Your not supposed to mess with it, I heard it comes out the box with optimal settings.

It comes from the factory with what APS thinks is the best setting. That doesn't mean it is prefect for every car. If you hear it flutter loosen the bolt. If it seems to let boost out at high RPM tighten the screw down. It doesn't normally need adjustment until you go to a big turbo.

Also wrap the threads of the Allen screw with teflon. It tends to leak.

The adjustment screw increases or decreases pressure on the internal spring which will control how much pressure and vacuum is required to move the piston a certain distance in the valve.

Hope that helps,
Kirill

If you tighten it to much it wont open all the way at partial throttle so you can get compressor serge
