Need Quick Advice, help plz: STi Owner(ZapcoLancer) thinking of Evo w/ 0% APR ~ Read

hey guys,

I bought a 2005 CGM sti back in march. I still owe on it(obviously). I heard about people getting these good deals through mitsubishi b/c of the 0% financing and getting their evo at or around invoice.

For those who dont know.... I used to be known as ZapcoLancer on these forums. had silver lancer with all that junky stuff done to it... blah blah blah. I got sucked into a deal on my sti from my cousins boyfriend who sold me the car and totally d!cked me. Now, i hear about all of this 0% evo deals and it sounds good. I have a few questions though.

Being that I owe on this car, would it be smart to get out of the sti and get into an evo? Or would it be smarter to just stick with the sti? Does it not matter? I pay about 453 a month for this car... do you think if I tried to talk to them on an evo, would it be possible at all to get in an evolution at or below the money I pay for my sti. In other words, could I get into the evo for cheaper than im paying monthly for the sti? I dont know what to do. I am very excited and nervous being that this is a big deal, but I do not want to make any stupid decisions which will cost me. Anyone with any input or advice or had anything similar happen to them(as far as trading in a car you still owed on for an Evo VIII) - Please help me, I do not know what to do! Don't flame me for owning Sti!

If you are upside down on the STi, i.e. owe more than it's worth, then I doubt your payments would be cheaper.

Perhaps find a private buyer to buy the STi and get the Evo (if that's what you want to do). Personally, I would say wait until you are at least out of the red.

too many variables. what do you owe? how much will they give you for trade. how much you can haggle on the price of the evo, etc. get some numbers and come back and let us crunch them for you.

Depending on the rate you're at right now, interest alone may accrue to over 5k over the life of the loan, so you may be able to get into a new Evo for about the same price monthy.

You are going to get screwed if you try to trade it in. Used car market is now terrible and if you have any mods on the sti you are actually going to get less for it, not more.

^If you wanted to trade it in I would talk to Mitsu and play numbers with them, but it helps that you owe less then it's worth!!!

1.9 is a great rate. i doubt that you'll come out very far ahead if at all considering that you'll have to pay tax, title, fees all over again in addition to probably taking a hit on the trade.

Either A) sell it on your own, B) keep it, or C) talk to Mitsu and play the number game

I would do C because that would give you the best idea with where you are

I dont want to come out ahead.. I have no problem paying 450 a month... as long as it's a car i really want in the color I want, etc.... when you're paying the $$ I am, for the color car you didnt even want to begin with, it kind of gets under my skin. im so mad about it =/
