My advice is...don't take it off. That's blasphemous...

why would it be blasphemous? i believe it's personal preference..i mean the RS comes with no wing..you dont see people complaining about that. plus i like the sleeper look. i mean without the wing my car will be a normal 4 door sedan. and that's the look im going for. and for those who are going to say track this, gets unstable triple digits that. all i can say to you guys is how often do i go i triple digits? and how often do i track. i go triple digits when i go head to head highway which is rare cause no one wants to go at it usually. and for track i dont think ill be going to track the car unless i get another car as a daily driver.

Because it's making your car something it's not. Plus, it's rather ugly, but of course that's just an opinion that not everyone shares.

I say take it off. What? Just because you take the wing off it's not an Evo anymore? C'mon. I think some of you guys take your loyalty towards the Evo a little to the extreme.

well according to some things i have read on this forum and socalevo. the wing creates drag which is good for track...if im not going to track the car would it make the car technically faster since i wont have any drag going in a straight line? and if i do persay take it the track ill prolly only run my 1/4 times and i should really feel it that much there since imma invest in a vishnu rear undertray. and i dont see how you can say it's making my car something it's not? would you say that an RS is something it's not when it puts on a wing?

I personally would'nt take mine off, but on the bright side our wings retail for about $1200. I'm sure that a regular lancer would buy it.

Are you doing anything else to make you more sleeperish??

No, because an RS is an RS. You don't have an RS, and all that other stuff about drag or no drag is just you trying to justify your decision from a performance standpoint. Stick with the real reason, which is you just like the look and want to reduce the noticeability factor.

That's called physics and common sense. All that aside I did it because of the unwanted attention and just got tired of looking at it.

how are you going to say my real reason is look and noticablitly factor? there are a number of factors that i have considered before doing this. yes ONE of my factors is the look. but i wanted to justify if removing the wing reduced performance. so i looked into the performace factor of removing the wing. i saw the downfalls and pluses, and i made the choice.

and to wally, yes im trying to go for the sleeper look. ive always liked that look. plus this way im hoping i can get more people to try to race me lol.

anyways back to the purpose of this thread. is there anythign i should look out for when i take it off..and how you think i should store it?
