How deep are the Recaros?

I have heard a few guys on here say that they have sast in the Evo and they are 6 feet tall and weigh 250 and the Recaros feel comfy. How about a 5 foot 4 dude the weighs a buck 50? Are those Recaros gonna swallow up short people?

I'm 5' 7" and I fit fine. I've sat in 3 evo's already and have driven in one. It feels great. You dont have to worry about anything with the seats.

I sat in the US spec Evo today, and I've sat in a J-Spec Evo 7 from Evolution Imports. I'm 5'10" about 175 (average build). I would say the US seats are fine for your back. Decently tight and supportive. The leg bolsters, however, were mediocre IMO. The J-spec seats were tighter throughout both the back and seat (almost too tight, but I said ALMOST). What I would do is order a J-Spec seat for the driver (the fabric seems to be the same for us and J-spec), but hey, that's just me.

Overall, I thought the car was very decent and the plastics were not nearly as bad as some people have said (I thought they were better than the Nissan Altima, for example).

I'd say that the Recaros have been designed to fit a WIDE variety of people very well. That's why they're so expensive and sought after. I'd say that if you are within 5'2" and 130lbs to 6'8" and 340 lbs, you'll fit.

Fireball, thanks for the info. I'm a pretty short dude. I was worried that when I got to the dealership and sat int he car I wouldn't be able to see over the freekin steering wheel. I wish the seats adjusted up and down, just an inch or 2.

But hey, if I can't I gues I will have a set of Recaros for sale here in a few. Anyone interested?

What !?!?!?! Holly ****e ! ! ! That's some serious bucks.

Forgive me for not knowing more about topics in here, but this will be my first import ride. It's been exotics and domestics for me untill I get the Evo.

How do you think the seats would be for someone who is between 5'1" and 5'4"?

If I'm going to remain interested in the Evo, then my wife also has to be able to reach the pedals and see over the steering wheel without stretching her neck.

As it is now, she has to adjust our S4's and my GTI's seats most of the way up and forward.

No, I do mean $2,600 a piece. The bottom of the seat is $1,200 and the back part is $1,400. Now that is replacement costs. I'm sure the cost to put them in there OEM is about half, but still expensive seats.

japanparts.com has evo 7 seats for $1,675 ... i'm assuming that's the price for each seat.. but from the dealer i can see them costing upwards of 2500 per seat... wouldn't suprise me at all. Recaros are notorious for being expensive. My s2000 seats cost around 2200 from the dealer each.

Im really happy that th EVo comes with a set of "more" comfortable Recaros. I have a set of full hugging Recaros in my Datsun 240 and can tell you that they do beat up on your body after a while. Its great for a short drive or a track event, but after a while your body starts going numb- not good

please don't ever let me hear about someone paying $5200 for a set of recaros, especially this set. although they are nice, a wide range of recaro (or sparco, or omp...or...) seats can be had for much less than that.

i bet the rails are separate from that $2300/pop as well.
