Checking Multiple Dealerships?

I have two dealerships near me. One has 8 Evo's now, the other has 3 coming in today or tomorrow because they can't keep them in stock. The colors I'm looking at are Silver or Red. The one with 8 has Red with Silver expected this week, the one with 3 has Silver, and could get a red if I wanted. Both have acknowledged 0% financing.

Is there any real advantage in having the dealerships compete against each other? I can't get a better rate.

On the initial call, the dealership with 3 coming said at 0%, he can sell one without SSL for $29,794. The other place said the non-SSL price at 0% is $31.5k - $32k. Should I play them against each other or just go with the more upfront/less expensive one?

That's why you check multiple dealerships. Play them against each other until you get the lowest price (or a price you are willing to pay.

I know with the last car I bought, I paid 500 more than another dealership was offering though. The dealership that wanted less was incredibly rude and unprofessional (in every way). That and I had heard nothing but horror stories from people who had gotten cars there....

You should obviously play them against each other. Unless you like spending money you don't need to.

I like that the one place was very upfront with what the price of the car would be for me. A $29.7 Non-SSL is not too bad. I guess I could always go test drive one at the other place, let them know the deal the other dealership is giving me, and see what they have to say.

I just learned yesterday.

SSL = Sound, Sun, and Leather package.

Upgraded stereo, sunroof, leather seats and other surfaces, and HID's.

SSL is the Sun, Sound, and Leather package (comes with HIDs as I recall). The quote of 29k sounds close to invoice from what I remember (28k maybe?).
