Trading in a car equipped with Test Pipe?
Is it bad to trade in a car with a test pipe? The law that says you have to pay a $10k fine for tampering with it, can they get you if you trade the car in on something else?
Thanks.
Thanks.
+1 I think that's a good idea, not much effort for the peace of mind.

I'll just throw the stock cat in the trunk (still have it). There's no emissions in Florida so they may leave it up to the buyer on how they want the car. Thanks for the replies!

It depends on the dealership......i had to paid some $$$ for my trade in cause when you sign the papers you have to really read it. Because there are some questions asking you if you ever modify or touch the car in some sort of ways. I didnt check those boxes and the dealer had to make me paid some $$$ about 3,000. They even got a lawyer to send me some papers saying that I had to pay that much or they'll take me to court.....
i traded in my 02 rsx for my evo, and it had aftermarket springs and the whole nine yards. i never heard from them again. lol everything else i toke off to make it looks stock as possible
if it's a dealership, I don't really care what's aftermarket and what not...it's their problem after you sign the papers, since they give you crappy trade-in value anyways...
If you're dealing with a private party...then it'll be nice to let them know ahead of time....
