Offroading

Just wanted to see if anybody out there is taking their evos off road. basically what the car is designed for. Last night i was taking my car off some whoops designed for dirt bikes. and man i am really amazed. was doing round 40mph. pretty insane. One thing that makes me proud to own this car. and even more so that I did what i did. U know that Vette, Viper and Porsche owners never even dream about doing that. on street tires none the less.

mine has seen the oregon coast sand and a few logging roads more than once. if you have never driven you evo in the sand then you need to. (just make sure you rinse it off really well when you are done)

I did it again Saturday night after a day at the track! Two different types of performance driving on one day... Good times.

I don't know of any offroad places out here in PA. I'd be way too afraid to take my baby out there though. I'm sure it would be a blast though.

Bro i launched my car off a whoop at 40 mph plus then bottomed out hard and only thing messed is underlip below spoiler and the plastic undertray is a little munched. but i felt like Jeremy McGraph on a dirtbike. not scratches on sides nowhere else is there damage and i hit the dirt flew up like water on tidal wave at magic mountain. was the most fun i have ever had in my car and even thinking about the F-up it still puts a smile on my face and gives me a laugh. The reason y i am so passive about this is cause i was out having alot of fun. its alot different when u hit a tire on the freeway and damage ur car just going to work. All in all i will probably be out there next week.

It'd be great if you would videotape it for us, inside and outside of car please. We'd all love to see that.

we have a couple of dirt roads near me. they're pretty pothole ridden though. we have plenty of gravel roads out here near beaver falls.

it was the most amazing thing i have ever seen
brought camera but it was too dark . next i will bring a camcorder so u guys can see the stuff im talking about. the craziest thing about the noseplow was that i really felt like i was in a wrc video of one of the crashes. just like when u see the camera from pinazzi and they roll it or something. All i can say is that some cars were ment to be driven and some were ment to fly. GO EVO

Hmmm...if you consider the stock showroom EVO a "rally car", then you should also consider the fact that it is set up for tarmac -- not for snow or gravel.

There are things like ground clearance and suspension travel to take into consideration.

Just be careful -- do it too much and you might regret it...

i remember seeing a video of a stock red evo going off a really tiny jump on a paved backroad. when it landed the I/C smashed into the ground and i believe the roof split in the middle. anyone have that clip?

so thats y 05's come with acd settings for tarmac gravel and snow. probably so us ralley enthusiasts can pretend its and authentic ralley car for imagination purposes. Also check into what cars are in group N.
