Not as quick to get up, it really starts to go at 2500 rpms or so, but I wasn't launching the thing. It was comfortable under normal driving conditions.

I talked to a buddy of mine that used to sell cars, they are offering a $2000 rebate if you don't take the 0%. He said if I wasn't going to keep the car 5 years, I might be better off taking the rebate and 1.9% for 60mo, rather than the 0%.

Guess I'll see.

I own a evo, and my friend owns a GTO that I drive regularly.

Stock for stock the GTO is obviously ALOT quicker from a roll, modded the EVO has it.

Handling, no question the EVO.

Interior goes to the GTO.

The GTO is a quick car but it's a bit on the heavy side which doesnt make it seem that fast. If it was around 3100-3200 lbs than it would be a beast.

Good news for me, the excellent deal I was offered is being tested by another dealer. He said for me to come by there today so he can see my trade, and he promises me he can do considerably better, AND has a Silver n/SSL coming on the truck today or tomorrow with my name on it.

This could get interesting.

yaah the new audi s4 (i believe its called the b7) is nice but the evo stock for stock is still faster, and you cant really mod a new s4 apart from chip and exhaust (im sure rs4 parts are going to be crazy priced if you want to get them) and ive read people complain that it gets about 12 mpg and with gas prices going the way their going thats not that cool, but the rs4 coming out is going to be amazing- If i was goign to spend 53k id get a used porsche carrera 4s, but since u want to spend 30k get an evo you wont regret it!

Evo has been purchased. Should take delivery tomorrow, assuming it delivers tonight or early morning. It's going off the truck and straight to the shop for prep.

Nice Dridge! I check insurance on both, the GTO is about $30/month cheaper.

We'll be interested to hear which route you go. You're in good shape either way.

Leaning towards GTO. I finally test drove the M6 (last time was A4). The car is extremely fast... i wasn't expecting it to be so strong down low and such a large powerband. It's like instant acceleration from any gear at any RPM. The power curve is very flat feeling. The engine sounds awesome, especially in the higher RPMs.... great turn radius too.

I really want to drive an EVO to compare.... I'll update tomorrow after i try to drive the evo.

I will try one last time to test drive an EVO, they wouldn't let me last time.

Gto is fast, but has a very even power band, which didnt really impress when I drove my uncles new car ( gto when he got it). Handling was loose, but gearbox was very smooth. had nice low end torque though.Nice car but...I was happy to get back into my car afterwards.

How did it not impress?

It has a better power:weight ratio than the EVO, better low end torque, better top end hp.

I currently own an SRT-4 with a very close power:weight ratio of the EVO and the GTO felt much faster (especially below 2.5k RPMs, and above 5k RPMS)

I'll add to this: 4 doors makes it convenient for guests (could be a good or bad thing). Better mpg. Better handling. AWD for those snowboarding trips (aWwww yeah).
