Worried?

Well this is my first turbo car that i ever owned. I know alittle or none about the 4g63 . My question is this my car pushes out 350hp now. I'm conerned that it will break in the near future considering internals are stock and i'm riding on a stock clutch. I have a boost gauge, tbe, and Ecutek, I have read other wise about the engine is that the timing belt breaks in time like easily when it's not even schelude for mantaince yet. I can see my stock clutch going out somethime soon that's normal but what about the engine? Or anything else for that matter in a short period of time. I admit i drive my car 70/30 >>>> 70% being hard >>>30% normal i like to run it to about 4,500 or even 5,500 rpm when i drive i like to hear the BOV. am i being paraonaid? and is there anyone else running like the same or more horspower and/or concerned? or do u guys have your internals done to make sure ur engine doesn't break.

First of all, you don't have anywhere near 350hp, unless you're referring to crank horsepower, which is something you can only estimate to begin with and is not very much at all. 350whp is a lot more powerful, but even that doesn't come close to needing upgraded internals. Second of all, how can you not know that this motor doesn't need the stock internals changed until 500whp or more? There's people all over the place on this board making 350-400whp with nothing changed in the engine except cams, and that's just to go faster, not to protect the engine.

4500-5500 is not driving hard at all. I routinely go to redline (7600rpm) in any of the first 3 gears at any given time. I don't do it to hear my BOV, but rather to accelerate quickly. You aren't driving hard, so your engine is fine...in fact, it's being underutilized. The clutch is about the only thing that you may have to worry about down the road, but where the hell did you read about the timing belt? I think you' may be referring to old DSMs when you refer to the engine? It's the same engine, but it doesn't mean every accessory part is the same. I haven't read anything about timing belt issues...

The 4G63 is one of the most bullet proof OEM engines in the industry.

On some of the Gen2 DSMs , they used to have a problem with crankwalk, but
you had to really beat the crap out of the car to do that.
.

Are you asking what DSM stands for ?
