Which exhaust?!? I'm down to Heads or Tails?

After spending countless hours with the search button, it's finally time to make a decision on which exhaust to buy. I started like many others trying to go the cheapest possible route.

Option 1: Megan Racing Catback, DP, Test Pipe, O2 housing, and Header - ALL for $900 shipped!

This as well as the full Helix package were cheap but seem entirely too loud for my taste and some posts make me question the quality of product.

Option 2: Espilir catback, Espilir Downpipe, Helix test pipe (wait on o2 housing and header) - $807 shipped
I came across the espilir exhaust and loved the way its sounds and it seems to be a quality product. The few reviews I found said great product

Option 3: Buschur Turboback (test pipe) with Magnaflow (wait on o2 housing and header) - $845 shipped
Finally got ahold of a video link that worked. What a great sounding exhaust and the reviews have been nothing but outstanding.

Option 4: AMS turboback (test pipe) (wait on o2 housing and header) - $895 shipped
What seems to be another great system with outstanding reviews and an amazing sound on video!

Option 5: Invidia turboback (test pipe) (wait on o2 housing and header) -$899 shipped

This is an exhaust I cant find much about but that seems to be a great product but no sound clip that I can find. I've heard more about these from StI owners.

So here I am guys. I think the major battle comes down to AMS vs Buschur. Stuck with money in hand ready to order. I know its my choice but man I could use that last bit of input. thanks!

I like the ams, I had the Buschur tbe and it will be loud. IF you want the exhaust to be loud like a harley then get the buschur. if not get the ams.

Amazing, but ugly. It's really ugly. No question on quality, fitment, or power production, though.

Yes it is the cheap knock off, but I have had mine for over a year and still looks new, its all stainless even the flanges. And yes the company has had a bad rap but its an exhaust they are all about the same when it comes down to it. fit is awesome sound is awesome and the power was unbelievable even with out a tune

Would've gone with a AMS TBE, but I'm on a budget....so I went with a Megan TBE on my MR...quality is good & it looks very nice...totally worth the price in my opinion!!

All exhausts are the same?! I can't believe i'm the first person to call you out on this. You obviously know nothing about tuning or the thousands of dollars respectable, quality companies put in to the research and development of exhausts. Some ebay company makes a cheap knock off claiming great performance numbers just because it looks like a certain name brand exhaust and you buy it. Good luck with your slower than stock evo.

Back on track... Go with the Buschur, it's ridiculously light and gives you great performance gains. The sound is mean. Plus its inexpensive. I haven't personally heard the magnaflow muffler version. It is a little heavier but has similar performance. Everything has a trade off.

Sorry, but this is not true with exhausts. The only differences between these exhausts is the number of bends. The buschur is not ridiculously light. It's lighter than stock for sure, but it's not as light as titanium exhausts, but that's not important. The Buschur makes proven power and is not overly expensive like some. Unfortunately, there are many that are just as good that cost much less. You think that all these exhausts cost more because of R&D, but the majority of the markup can be attributed to the BRAND NAME. There is no reason for one exhaust to make more power than the other unless one has terrible bends or neckdowns. Since the exhausts we're referring have no such deficiencies, then your response is invalid. I'm amazed that you think his Evo is slower than stock due to an Ebay exhaust.

In my instance, I ran 12.2 on one of these so-called "Ebay" exhausts. I didn't get it off Ebay, but it was only $350 and did not have a major brand name associated with it. It was beautiful, shiny, had perfect fitment, and sounded great. I then added a Megan TP/DP and went 12.1 in 95 degree weather on the stock turbo and cams. If you think a Buschur or HKS or any titanium exhaust would improve upon this due to how much they cost, then you are sorely mistaken...

Abicus,
I'm ordering my 3" turbo back with cat delete from Buschur with Magnaflow today. I also have been researching exhausts and was torn between the same two. I'm going Buschur, so if you want to wait and see mine in a week, you are more than welcome. I live in Bellingham, WA and we could arrange something......

Cost has nothing to do with it. I'm not arguing price. I could get a custom exhaust made for cheaper than most brand name exhausts. Do i want to? no, because i don't feel like waiting for the exhaust to be made. and i know that a good brand name exhaust will fit the first time and not have to be modified several times before it will fit well. A custom exhaust could be cheaper than a brand name exhaust and post similar or better performance numbers. Yes you bought a custom exhaust not an ebay exhaust, great. Theres a difference one is a knock off.
The buschur racing exhaust is the lightest stainless steel exhaust i personally have seen. me saying its ridiculously light is a personal opinion and observation.
Yes a titanium racing exhaust would improve performance because A) it's lighter than a stainless steel exhaust. An improvement in hp to weight ratio granted its negligable is still an improvement B)Its been engineered to perform better. Ever heard of back pressure or resonance?
