There is a reason it is noisier. There are two things that the 05 have that the 03-04 do not have. An ACD and a front Helical LSD. The Helical is noisy I know that for certain.

 

when im car was brand new its was more quiter than before,but now i rack some miles(5,000)the engine became a bit noiser.talking about the helical lsd,how does the noise here like?.idk if thats the noise im hearing everytime im driving around.

 

My car has a Lancer badge over Evolution and it doesn't say VIII anywhere but the floormats, did I get ripped off?

okay, seriously, I've been in an '05, and they are louder, though the car is freaking loud anyway (and said '05 wasn't as loud as mine)

 

I don't know about you guys but my 03 was way noiser than my 05. My 03 had a stiffer ride and the steering was quicker than my 05.

 

My 05 is just a noisey as my old 03

I ride with you yesterday and the car is perfect; you can’t even hear the normal noise that AWD do!!!!! In first gear!!!

If both 03 and 05 have same aftermarket exhaust, you will definitely tell 05 is louder. I tested this with my friend's 03 with HKS hi-power and my 05 with same HKS exhaust. It's probably because of 10.5 hotside? since 05 boost kicks in about 500rpm earlier...

 

I thought that the 10.5 spooled more like 500 rpm later?

 

GSR model are the first generation that was made with all the options available in 03 including intercooler sprayer, HID, sunroof, Power Mirror, Power window, Radio, rear wing and they even had ACD but was not offer in the USA only in UK.

Now they figurate out how they can make more money by offering the RS basic or RS package like R wing, radio, Pwindow, leather and some even HID convert ion but still RS from the Factory; Now there’s a hand full 2,500 made GSR that where made like the 03 they all came with sunroof and all the toy’s, even with water sprayer as option and leather.

If you want A GSR you can call RAY miller Mitsubishi at 1-888-325-4917 they are #1 evo seller store offering GSR 05 for $500 over invice!!!! only $31.500.


Remember the more toys’ they got from factory the less they will make out of invoice!!

But Ray miller sale so many Evo throughout Us that they get credits form the Factory....

Can't believe I am even responding to this nonsense. I have listened to over a hear of *****ing and whining over the noises that the evo's make from you. They even had to suspend your local forum account because everyone was tired of hearing it. We even had a thread telling to go buy a Acura TL or something if you wanted a quiet ride.

I think you should hardwire your brain to evom so that everytime you have a thought it would automatically post it for you.

From your post history I have gathered that is the biggest POS ever made and the Evo is a POS. It's no wonder they are going out of business and on and on.... You stated you would never buy another again. I am surprised you are not moderating mitsubishisucks.com or are the spokesperson for them or something. 6 months ago you were tired of the RR and were parting it out and selling it because your priorities had changed and now you were more mature and wanted to move onto more important things.

The Evo is a high performance sports sedan, everything from tires to driveline to motor and suspension. You are in the wrong car if you cannot understand the noises and accept them as normal. I have posted this TSB for you once and I'll do it again as a refresher:
