The new Evo I bought

The Evo I recently bought had 170 miles on it. I keep worrying about how it was previously driven and if there was any harm done to it. Is 170 miles a lot to worry about? Right now I feel like someone took the virginity out of my car. I know its too late because I already purchased it, but I just wanted to ask you guys for your input on this.

Thanks for all your help and feedback

Well lets put it this way, where I'm from, you can only test drive an EVO if your willing to do credit check. Once your set w/ that, they'll let you test drive one. And on the test drive, the dealer would very specifically tell you to not drop the hammer or mash on any gears really hard. Again thats in my area. (Been to 4 dealers and had the same specifics around here) BUT......heres the scarry part, I have seen technicians drive the **** out of EVO's off the lot. Whether its getting gas, detailed, whatever. Honestly I would have not gotten the car IMO. I made for damn sure the EVO I purchased had no more than 20miles on it. I purchased mine w/ 16 miles. Break-in IMO is very important, and having a car w/ the lowest possible mileage will give me some peace of mind so I CAN break it in the way I want to. But again, whats done is done.......just get the car blessed or something!

Dont worry about it 170 miles isnt really that many miles to do any damage IMO unless it was tracked out the lot, just keep breakin period up to 1k miles i know it can be hard to do though. And change the oil/filter at 1k or sooner i changed mine at 740 miles.

don't worry about the miles...you're just in the "panic and regret" mode after buying a new car. treat it decently during the break-in and the car will be just fine.

i got mine with 100 miles on it and after 22,000 miles it doesn't even burn an appreciable amount of oil between changes...i was worried too but it's no big deal.

It just depends on the dealer. I went on a crazy ride with a salesman in an evo off the lot. He drove it before I did and drove like we just robbed a bank. I enjoyed the ride then purchased one off the truck from another dealer.

this is true. my dealer had proof that the car was driven from a dealership in CT almost exactly 100 miles away (the car had 107 on it when i bought it) and I actually new the salesman who drove it up.

bu i really didnt believe anything they said so i was still somewhat concerned...but not anymore.

Dont worry. 170 miles won't be a problem. Just make sure you drive it for the next 800 miles or so in varying speeds and revs. Don't rev higher than 4-5k. Evrything will be fine. Just enjoy the fantastic experience!!

dont worry about it you have warranty so if anythign goes wrong you can get it fixed. just dont mod your car until you reach like 3000 miles to make sure everything is fine. the more you worry something will happen to it. just enjoy your car and dont stress it cause you wont ever know how it was treated before and if it wasnt good you rather not find out

I bought my new Evo with 246 Miles on it, and that dealership doesnt allow test drives with the Evo unless your a real contender buying it.

It was driven from NY to MA because the dealership had no Evo's so mine was the only one.

I have 15k on it now and driven it for one year. Absolutely no problems w/ my car beside the fact I love it more and more everyday.

dude, no worries. i had exactly the same amount of miles on mine when i bought it. granted, i only have 1300 on it now, but my clutch still feels perfect, shifts are smooth, pretty much no complaints (except for a damn window malfunction, but that's another story...).

What about the guys buying their evo's used with even more miles on it? If its got less than 500 I wouldnt worry at all. Just drive it and enjoy it.

! what window malfunction? When I picked mine up the rear drivers side window wouldn't go up - didnt find that out for a couple weeks since I rarely put the back windows down.

Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it - just follow the breakin and everything should be fine.
