BOV question

Ok i know i might get flamed or told search but before hand i have searched. Anyways i was wondering which bov will give that high pitched sound like from skyline from 2f2f.....(I know dont refer to the movie cuz it is the gheyness) but i am not quite fond of the whoosh sound from other bovs and i like that loud chirp sound. I have heard that the HKS SSQV gives this noise but heard of reliability issues such as not driving right it will stall. I definately don't want this so can anyone give me some help?

HKS will give you stalling issues if you vent it to atmosphere like almost any other BOV.. its fine with the high pitch sound but note that you shouldnt boost anymore than 25psi with it.

It's fine with me.

i ahve the ssqv and im VTA for now, and there are no stalling issues at all, the only thing is if I drop it from high rpms it stutters like it is going to stall, but then picks up again. When it is idling, however, there are no stalling issues.

I have the HKS SSQV on my 2005 EVO, and whether I VTA or recirculate, it makes the car stutter and surge on gradual deceleration. It's worse when venting to atmosphere, but recirculating didn't completely resolve the problem.

I have the HKS EIDS, but that doesn't help much and causes the car to stall during warm-up.

I do not have any engine management, but I am scheduled for a custom Dynoflash tune this weekend, so I'm hoping that helps some. The SSQV was still quite audible even after recirculating, but I am running the HKS Racing Suction intake, which is much louder than stock intake. A few days ago the (recirculating) BOV stopped making the high-pitched sound though, and it started surging worse. I took it apart and everything looks fine...I oiled the shaft lightly and put it all back together, but nothing has changed. It's still fairly quiet and still surges pretty bad.

FYI, the SSQV wasn't really designed to be rebuilt with any kind of frequency. The shell nuts holding the 2 halves together are poorly held in place to keep from rotating by the housing, so you end up having to use pliers to keep them from rotating while you loosen the bolts. Since the nuts have a black finish, they get all scratched up in the process. (you can't fit a socket on them due to their proximity to the surrounding walls)

If you want that high pitch whitsle check out the Go Fast Bits w/ whitsle add-on. Do a search for their site and they have clips to listen too.

What a bunch of idiots... the driveshaft did not have to be removed to make it RWD for drift if I remember correctly all that has to be done is to remove a fuse to disable the atessa system.
