Does it occur at peak boost or generally at low levels of boost too? Is it VERY noticable in terms of sound?

If you have a boost leak it will get louder as you rev higher, think of it logically and it will make sense. The more air you are sucking in/forcing out, the more will escape if you have a boost leak.

Eling, I'm going to use my psychic powers and guess that your plastic intake snorkel is not secured to the bumper with the stock fasteners. Go make sure the snorkel has both clips fastening it to the bumper, then go drive beyond 6k to your heart's content...

If you don't have the stock intake snorkel anymore, then please disregard, for it means my crystal ball is malfunctioning.

Don't use zipties, though. Use the exact same clips that went there originally by snagging them from the trunk lining. These clips are re-usable, but you have to first learn how to use the little clips in the middle.

No, that's the MAF pipe.

The snorkel is the snorkel...you know, the thing that sucks air in kinda like a...snorkel. Here's an illustration:

Air -----> Snorkel -----> Airbox
