hoping to buy soon how a few Q's
hoping to buy soon have a few Q's
My main question is if the MR is really something to shoot for or just get the standard Evo. The only thing I see with the MR is the 6 speed tranny and Alum roof. I can care less about the roof and the shocks and springs will be one of the first up grades, so is the 6 speed that much better. I will push the car at times but will most likly not go to any organized track events. I would also like to here why some of you chose the base Evo's over the MR and vise versa. Right now I don't believe the the MR is worth if for the 6 speed and top of the line bragging rights. If some can point to info on the 5 vs 6 speed discution that would be great.
Sorry i'm pretty sure this question has come up more than once, but I can't seem to find anything when I search.

MR has bilstein shocks, $750 a piece BBS forged rims, aluminum pedals and shift knob, and fog lights in addition to the 6 speed and aluminum roof. Plus i heard the IX MR is going to run slightly higher boost than the Standard IX. Its a matter of preference. All three versions are great for their own reasons.
I'm waiting for the IX and from what I read is that the only thing different in the 05 is the 6 speed, rims and roof. Yes I know about the shocks, but those will be replaced regaurdless. Now I don't kow what the IX MR is going to have over the rest, but going by the 2005 models I don't see a hugh difference. Pedals and such are not high on the must have list and on the IX most of that stuff is standard.
Quoted for Motor Trend
Head- and taillamps get a smoky mirror finish, and the foglights reside in specific oval oculars. New, double five-spoke Enkei wheels are fitted to IX and RS models with a net weight savings of 0.33 pound each. The cockpit of the Evo also is slightly changed: No more low-rent cloth and workaday Lancer dash colors. You get a black-painted Momo steering wheel and black leather/Alcantara Recaro front buckets. Titanium- and carbon-look dash panel accents and aluminum-covered pedals are standard on the regular Evo IX, but not on the RS version.
