try this... 1st gear, accel at 1/4 throttle until 4500rpm, shift, 2nd same, shift, 3rd same, shift into 5th and keep it at about 60mph and you should get a good 23mpgs.

My friends call it the "tease" driving cuz it feels like your going to go really fast, but never exceed the speed limit. LOL

I have been getting about 25-26 mpg average since I've bought the car. I do mostly HWY driving at 65 mph, though. It's just that I wanted to see if I could hit 30 mpg, just for the challenge of it. Today was supposed to be the day that I started the experiment. It didn't last 1 hour. In spite of my occassional spirited driving, I still get pretty darn good mileage.

How much does it cost and how much do you usually get in a month. For example can you just leave it in an approved flask in your garage?

I did get some good gas mileage experimenting with Hydrogen injection. I basically made a tank where you separate Hydrogen atoms from the H2O molecule using 12v from the car and a solution of 1 liter of water to 1 teaspoon of acid.

I got great gas mileage on the flats (35 mpg i sh*t you not) but as soon as boost kicked in, the pressure blew the hydrogen back into the tank. Worked great on the flats though. I think it would work better for normally aspirated engines.

Best I've gotten out of a full tank was 294 miles and that was staying out of boost and shifting before 3k. I usually average around 220-230 with some spirited driving on a full tank. It really is hard to stay out of boost.

I tried anexperiment too
I filled up my tank and shifted at 2500 through all the gears and was doing 65 in 5th ,all hwy, I got 200 miles on half a tank. then I filled it up because gas was 3.74 for 94. But I guess that is pretty good

I thought my post was very clear...

I was (yes i said was, i'm not doing it anymore) introducing Hydrogen into the engine to aid in combustion so I can get more out of my fuel. You did know that Hydrogen is combustible, right?

I'm looking for that link where I found the drawings I followed to make the hydrogen separator.

The process is called electrolysis and what I made was an electrolysis tank which I filled with a mixture of 1 liter water and 1 tablespoon acid. Then I used the 12v in the car to activate the mixture and separate the hydrogen from the water.

^ i've heard of this being done in tandem with battery arrays being set up in civic hybrids, producing a car getting over 100 MPG. That just about puts you back to where we were 3 summers ago, haha. I'm not sure what the long-term effects of this would be, but obviously not too bad. Apparently the battery array alone raised the product to over 85 MPG, but the hydrogen injection put it over the top. Ahh, science... you magical bastard.

I can't find the drawings right now but I'd be willing to post pix of my electrolysis tank when I go home this weekend.

Thank god I'm not teaching anymore, I'd kill myself. Every bit of energy you get by burning the hydrogen (and more) you use up in the electrolysis. Net effect: lower efficiency, not higher.

The only time I've come close to driving the car "responsibly" for a full tank was a cop-infested interstate run. I got about 28mpg.
