Weights of various things
I decided to weight the usual stuff. It's just a bathroom scale, and it tends to read a bit high on lighter things, but it's pretty close.

Rollo your my hero!
I knew it would not be long after us Yanks got an EVO that we would start disassembling the car and since you’re weighing stuff, got room on the scale for the transmission?

The wheels and/or tires seem to be pretty good. If I were to get an Evo, I may try to invest in some lighter wheels, but it probably isn't necessary.
For comparison, my SSR Comps (17x7.5et35) with 225/45 Pirelli P6000 tires weigh about 39 lbs. The wheels alone only weigh 13.5 lbs. The old combo I used to have was with OZ Comps (17x7.5et35) and 225/45 Dunlop SP9000 tires, and weighed a hefty 51 lbs. I saved 12 lbs. per corner just from that swap!
I also read that Pirelli tires tend to be lighter than other brands. I don't know much about that... Any ideas?
Seems like the stock Evo 8 wheels are in the neighborhood of 19 lbs., which is still pretty decent.
