Well my stock BOV did much better than yours did. But the JDM bov that I tested did a little worse than the ones you had. I guess it is experimental error or just manufacturing tolerances on the springs. Mike@Forge had the exact same numbers that I got in testing the stock BOV and JDM MR valve.

I can tell you this, you will not get more than 27 or 28 psi peaks with the JDM valve. It will definitely leak everything off that the stock turbo can flow.

Back to the topic at hand. I am running the HKS MAF suction pipe that is made to work with the stock airbox. It is different than the one that is used with the HKS RS kit. It works fine and the car runs very well with it and the stock airbox with K&N drop in. The air/fuel is fine. The MAF pipe adds a little quicker throttle response and boost response. I believe it is the filter before the MAF that really changes the MAF signals. The part after the MAF has little to do with "messed up" MAF readings. Thats just my opinion. Your results may vary.

I ran my HKS RS intake untuned for awhile, I noticed more power up-top and even more once it was tuned. As for all BOV's leaking except HKS, if that was the case why people buy different valves? My Forge unit works just fine and cost me 80 bucks new.

You think it had more power up top, but you didn't verify it on a dyno or at the 1/4-mile, which would have shown erratic readings and inconsistent power delivery.

Why do people use other valves? Because the HKS SSQV is a VTA pull-type. It's completely different than other valves that are push-type. I wasn't saying that it's better than others, just that it won't ever leak due to excessive boost based on its design. You have to buy an recirculation kit to make it work right, so it's not my cup of tea. I'm glad you got a Forge unit for $80 new. I've never heard of any Forge BOV that only cost $80, so that's awesome. I will check up on that then probably recommend it to everyone.

There is nothing wrong with the APS BOV, but it's expensive and unnecessary, unles he's going to be running 25+psi on race gas on a regular basis.
my stock bov leaked like creazy

Well spoken, concise and thorough. I also happen to concur with your findings. I think some are measuring the bov with pressure behind the valve and some without pressure behind the valve. This is probably the difference.

on ym stock MR i did a Reactive intake(exactly like the HKS, only the filter wont shrink and let in unfiltered air) and i ran 1/2 second slower in 1/4 mile w/o a tune
